Dr. Abieyuwa Eweka, MD

Dr Abieyuwa Eweka, and the Inari device he used, saved my life. I was taken by ambulance to the ER at Gulf Coast Medical Center because I could not draw a full breath without severe back pain. After having a couple of tests, I was referred to Dr Eweka. His diagnosis was that I had pulmonary embolisms, or blood clots, in my lungs. Dr Eweka clearly and kindly explained my options, the best of which was a procedure to remove the clots using the Inari medical device. I was fearful of the procedure, because I had to remain awake for it so Dr could talk to me during it. As it turned out, I was allowed Twilight anesthesia, which calmed me, but still allowed the Dr to communicate with me as needed. Dr made a small incision in my groin, similar to that used for a heart cath, then, as described for a layman, inserted a device to 'vacuum' the clots out. Recovery was immediate! I could breathe! I cannot thank Dr Eweka enough for his expertise and kindness. He and the Inari device saved my life.
