Excellent experience
I’ve been seeing the same doc for over 25 years but he retired and I heard great things about Dr Winkelstein. Dr Winkelstein was attentive and pleasant. The experience I had with my colonoscopy was the best I’ve had in over 25 years. The prep wasn’t bad at all and his staff was awesome from the time I showed up for my procedure until I left. Highly recommend!

Too busy to see patients with problems
I’ve been having issues for over 4 months and Dr Winklestein has no time for patients that need a doctor. His office does not put patients on a waitlist for cancellations, making you call everyday to see if you can get in. I did get an appointment with Winklestein, four months down the road and it didn’t matter to them if I had problems or not! Hopefully, my condition isn’t serious. I have decided to leave this practice and will see another gastro soon! Not happy at all with this practice!

Poor customer service
I have been a patient of Dr Winkelstein for over 10 years. He was available for appointments when I first started to see him. I had an appointment with the nurse in June to get scheduled and was waiting for months but didn't hear back from the office. I left several messages but nobody called me back. My gynecologist recommend a colonoscopy and I told her what's happen with Dr. Winkelstein's office. She personally called the office in my attendance and got an appointment December 6. I had to call and email several times to get info about my medication before the procedure. I received a phone call from Memorial Herman a few days ago about my colonoscopy appointment December 12! I have about 6 different emails between the office and me with the procedure date December 6. They tell me now if I can't make it I have to reschedule. Their patient/customer service is a nightmare. How I can't trust a doctor when the simple thing to make appointment and take care of their patient isn't there.

Great doctor
Dr. w. Referred me to TDDS services in Houston as cysts were accidentally found on my pancreas. After about one year for tests….CT, CT with dye contrast, MRI, another CT I had procedure called a ERPC done last week. I am very fortunate that Dr. what the knowledge and expertise to direct me to the best location for my medical needs. He is a very kind, caring and excellent doctor.

It was better 25 years ago
I have been a patient of Dr Winkelstein for over 25 years. He was available for appointments when I first started to see him. Today i can’t get an appointment when I call. My choice is his Assistant or wait several months for his open date. I like him he’s a great doctor but you can only see him now for few min before being put out for scope. His medical assistant has not been able to help me. Dr. Winkelstein I wish you cared about your old patients. Pat Curran You can not Publish my E-Mail address!

Beware. He is lazy and will palputate you in a chair instead of an exam table. Later you will find out that he missed a 10cm mass in your abdomen because of his laziness

While we like Dr. Winkelstein and have been pleased with his care, we have been absolutely appalled by his office staff. We have been patients of Dr. Winkelstein for several years now and the office staff has always been less than helpful. Their communication is sub-par. We recently moved and our new office has tried for 3 months to get our records from Winkelstein’s office.

Waited over 1 hours in the waiting room. Asked if the Dr. was in and the receptionist said she had seen him earlier. We never knew why we were waiting. I expect to have some level of respect as a patient. If his staff couldn't tell us why we were waiting, there is a problem. I would not trust him with my body, if he didn't respect me as a patient. Never again and I would NOT recommend Dr. Winkelstsein to anyone.

Dr. Winkelstein is one of the most competent Dr. I've come across in a long while. I have seen three doctors now for the same thing. He has been very diligent about discovering the problem and dealing with it, so far.
