Triple hernia surgery
Triple hernia repair LIFE CHANGING expected and unexpected benefits Expected benefits:No more abdomen cramps requiring pushing back bulge to alleviate painNo more wearing hernia beltUnexpected benefits that are at least as important as expected benefits:Immediately stronger urine stream and defined end stream push mechanism, which has always been very weak since original hernia surgery 51 years agoImmediately able to flex Pelvic Floor muscles with much more strengthImmediately eliminated constant sweat type fluids leaking through anus, thus removing the need to CONSTANTLY have to wear moisture absorbent pads (this is easily the most LIFE CHANGING of all)Perceived Laparoscopy Benefits to recovery:Most post-op pain (not bad at all, 1 on a scale of 5)is focused well below incisions/stitches removing any perceived need to rub or otherwise disturb the incision areaPersonally, I felt very well balanced having both sides repaired together as opposed to having pain on one side only

Great Doctor!
I did a lot of research not only on the specific type of surgery I needed (Umbilical hernia) but on the surgeon who I would trust my repair with. I found Dr. Fierer through my insurance company and from there through reviews. I met with him well in advance of my surgery and found him to be very patient and confident. He took time to answer all my questions. I met with him again right before my surgery and again I was confident I had made the right choice and that I would have a favorable outcome. The day of surgery came, I was quite scared and nervous but the staff at his surgery center (Carlsbad Surgery Center) we AMAZING! I was put at ease from the moment I arrived. I met with Dr. Fierer again we went over everything that was going to be done and away I went. I woke up in recovery in almost zero pain he let me know all went according to plan. It's been a week since and I am MORE than pleased with recovery. I would HIGHLY recommend him and if I never need another surgery he is who I

Very happy with entire process for hernia repair. Doctor his the fact that maybe my hernia wasn’t as bad as I thought but understood my fear of having it to begin with and fixing the problem. I’m very happy with the recovery too, I was able to walk out of the surgery center to the car.

From the beginning, Dr Fierer showed a rare level of caring. He operated on me dec 18 for colon cancer, and am now.. cancer- free. He was concerned and gave me great info all through the pre-op, day of op and post- op processes. Would go back anytime to him!

care philosophy

I realize that surgery, even a ``minor`` one, can cause anxiety, disrupt one's life, and create many questions. I will try to make the process as smooth as possible and the outcome positive.
