Thumb joint surgery
Visiting Dr Rives, he explained in detail why my left thumb hurt and what he could do to relieve the pain. I had surgery by him and within a couple months, without outside physical therapy, my thumb has returned to normal use. My right thumb is now experiencing the same issues and I will be making an appointment to see him in the near future.

Poor practice, lots of HIDDEN fees! Look around for a better place, more affordable with professional customer service and compassionate doctors! I came to have a hand surgery done. My consultation with him was 2 minutes without explanation what needs to be done and why. He saw me between surgeries-Quantity over Quality. Very unprofessional approach. I expected to see my X-Rays, get questions answered. None of these! I went into surgery blind! The place is EXPENSIVE, I worried about my payment- asked for a quote. I was told I have a great insurance, the quote was 3 TIMES less than I ended up paying. I am still getting bills from them bi-weekly and I am totally lost now WHY! If they told me the total price I would leave to go to much affordable clinics as Sansum etc. Very unhappy the way I was treated, the quality of surgery was average! Still paying over-priced bills with negative feelings. NEVER GO BACK THERE, DO NOT RECOMMEND IT ANYONE. STAY AWAY!

I came into, Mr. Adam Rives office because i had what is known as " trigger finger " . First of all, he was late for my appointment while i was on time . Being late for his appointment means he is over booking himself with patients / appointments but he thinks he is privileged and his time is more important then mine or anyone else's . Then after his assistants got everything ready including syringes & whatever else was needed for the injection he entered my room for a few brief seconds . Then all of a sudden and without any explanation he jumps out of the room without saying one word to me leaving me hanging there not knowing why i was left indefinately in a room smaller then a jail cell . So once again I'm waiting for him to come back into the small room for the steroid injection . Prior to the injection he used nothing to numb up my hand or joints so while he was doing the injection i was left in severe pain . The next day I called in to the office manager to speak with “

Excellent all around. After 1st meeting I was very confident he knew what to do for me and explained fully. Never tired of my questions. Had long time severe arthritis problems in left thumb, fingers and wrist. After surgery and physical therapy I have much more use of my left hand. Thanks again Dr Rives. So glad to have found you!!

Due to medical complications I needed to have a specialized hand surgery and it was unknown if I could find a Physician in KC North who could perform it. When I contacted Dr. Rives, immediately the Nurse reassured me that he performed the surgery. Dr. Rives explained the surgery, and my anxiety went away. From the time I made my appointment to after surgery, I received the best care possible and could not thank Dr. Rives and his Nurse enough. I highly recommend Dr. Rives to anyone and everyone.

I have had 2 carpal tunnel surgeries performed by Dr. Rives; one on the left and one on the right. Both outcomes were excellent. Dr. Rives has impeccable education, training and experience in this field. He customarily uses an endoscopic procedure as opposed to an open one that leaves no external scarring and allows him to minimize nerve involvement because he can visualize the anatomy inside the hand and wrist. He has a very pleasant manner, cares about his patients and comes right to the point.
