Dr. Adrian Hinman, MD

Excellent physician. Dr. Hinman had compassion and did a wonderful job with my hip. Three years later and I am still in great shape thanks to him.

Dr. Hinman has an amazing bedside manner, really cared about how I was feeling, an excellent listener, calming and reassuring, pleasant and patient with all my family members as well, attentive to my health concerns both before and after the surgery, delighting me with His intention to make my legs the same length and indeed he did! And so you can imagine that, with my advanced age, I was not overly optimistic about my recovery. But with Dr. Hinman’s encouraging demeanor, I am convinced that I could not have had a better surgeon.My follow up appointment with physicians assistant, Carrie, was also excellent . She was so helpful and responsive, able to set up an appointment for me with Head, Neck and Throat, which was deemed necessary.

During the initial consultation, Dr. Hinman explained my condition, how it was affecting me and causing pain; using my xrays and knee models. He clearly explained what would be done during a total knee replacement. He did not rush and was thorough and patient in answering questions and addressing our concerns. He spoke with me in the operating prep room prior to surgery and called my daughter with an update after surgery. The level of communication and care was immpressive. Kaiser San Leandro Orthopedics has an excellent support staff. A Total Joint Coordinator, Alex Hoffman PA, worked with me before and after surgery and the hospital staff who assisted pre and post surgery were outstanding! The surgery was successful and ten weeks later my knee is pain free and I've regained mobility, flexibility and quality of life.

Dr. Hinman did my left hip replacement, I find him to be very responsible, caring and understanding and most of all wanting to improve what he referred my quality of life. He did just that and now that I am in need of a right hip replacement, I am over a three hour round trip drive from him which makes it difficult to get someone to get me there. I am very disappointed but again cannot recommend him more.
