Dr. Aftab Ahmed, MD

Poor communication skills and not a strong patient advocate.

My family member was in severe pain and he said that she “can live with it”.

He has excellent clinical skills and communicates in terms patients can understand. He shows compassion and real concern for his patients. He has treated me thru multiple admissions since 2021

As a hospitalist, Dr. Ahmed has ZERO bedside manner, ZERO compassion and gives ZERO confidence when giving his medical diagnosis. His evaluations are vague. He makes you feel like he already has one foot out the door. Without notice, he took my 94-year-old mother off of 5 prescriptions and OTC meds without notification, other than the summary you receive when discharged. If any of my family needs to go to a hospital, I will make sure he is not employed there OR there is another hospitalist.

Upon discharge from hospital he sent a pain script to the mail order that I don't use. Was in the hospital for four days and saw him twice. He asked four questions never explained what was wrong with me, kept glancing at the clock like he had to be somewhere. Had to call the case nurse after discharge to get him to write a script for the local pharmacy, he never returned the call or wrote the script. Tried four days he never responded. My family practitioner, on Monday, immediately got me some pain meds.
