Expected a better first appointment
Arrogant,Judgmental,no compassion towards patient and a rushed appointment, and yes he thinks he's the best. One and done for me,not returning. After all the hoops you have to jump through just to get an appointment,I expected better,my hope for help was shattered.

Thought he was the best.
Sent me to his favorite spinal surgeon, after meeting him, I was reluctant to have a paddle spinal stimulator implant done by him. Dr. Kuppusamy convinced me he was the best. Had the procedure done. Dr Kuppusamy said it was a success. It was NOT. It was implanted sideways and could be seen on an x-ray, which I had done. He lied to me telling me it just needed more adjusting and not giving me injections to control the lumbar back pain. 2 YEARS LATER, wonderful surgeon at Barrow Spine and Neurology will be removing it and all the scar tissue that has grown around it. Needless to say, I no longer see Dr. Kuppusamy. He refused to send my procedures that were done to my new doctor. I used to think he was the best, and I was very wrong.

There are a lot of other choices out there. The staff here doesn't do a good job with appointments, billing, and are especially strict with appointment times. My mom had an appointment at 11:30. We got there at 11:21 (and it takes 2 minutes to fill out the 1 sheet of "check-in paperwork") and they told us we needed to reschedule because the check-in time was 11:15. They absolutely would not see her. I had to take 1/2 a day off to take my 82 year old mother to a doctor and they turned her away because we were 6 minutes late for the check-in time, but 9 minutes early for the appointment. I promised to respect that check-in time the next appointment, but they still turned her away. I'd rate the level of care a 2.5 out of 5. During her time being treated there the doctors didn't do a very good job of improving her pain level, nor did they communicate her care options very well.

Very helpful. I'm a long term patient of his. Staff is friendly helped me with some issues I had with my insurance too. While biased, I'm still trying to comprehend the technology behinds implants and what the practical risk are, but otherwise great specialist to have.

Dr. K was a great doctor. I actually went into detail about what my problem was and formed a plan with me to get me better. He didn't just walk in sign a sheet of paper and leave like some other. Glad I was referred to him

Dr. Kuppusamy’s bedside manor is top notch and unlike any other physician I have experienced. He is attentive, informative, and ensures his patients have a clear understanding of their care. He makes sure he is available to his patients when needed and takes care of their needs promptly. I would highly recommend Dr. Kuppusamy!

I was actually getting very disappointed with pain management specialty. Due to the opioid overdose epidemic these doctors are becoming detectives and judge mental with patients that are in need of pain relief to function Unfortunately , the patients that really need their services are getting mixed with the opioid seeking population. Dr Kuppusamy was the exception. My respects and admiration for this pain management doctor who sat and listened to me during my initial consultation.

I was scheduled today for an Epidural to L3-L5 on the right side. I've been waitig before Christmas to have this procedure. I had to cancel last Thursday due to the flu and being on antibiotics. My check in time was at 220p for a 250p procedure time. I arrived 4 minutes late for my check in time at the surgery center. The receptionist checked me in took my credit card then had me sign the procedure papers. This was all done by 230p. The Dr left cause I wasn't done by 230p. How inconsiderate!

This doctor does not listen. I wanted a fresh perspective on my care since I have a complicated medical history. I actually wanted to STOP taking my current opiates and was asking for alternatives. He kept saying, "I'm not upping your meds," and "I'm not giving you more". He was judging me before he even walked in the room. I have a spinal cyst that causes extreme pain and have seen quite a few doctors over the years. Never have I been treated with such disrespect by a provider.

It's unfortunate, but pervasive in this industry, that you try to explain your issues and he doesn't really listen. After 11 years of chronic pain from an auto accident, numerous procedures that didn't work and recent neuropathy, he only wanted to address the neuropathy, even after I told him my neurologist was already addressing. I guess the solution that has allowed me to lead a normal life for the past 11 years isn't profitable enough.

One of the worst doctors I've been to and after 30+ years as a paraplegic, I've seen a lot. He was unsympathetic, talked over me, wasn't listening, and I feel very judgemental. I wanted a 2nd opinion and he wanted to do procedures I've had or ones I don't need. I don't even have clonus so why would I need a baclofen pump? His bedside manner is terrible, he was condescending to me saying I was "clearly confused." :-( I left and cried hysterically in my car for 10 mins. Won't be returning.

An excellent Doc that truly seems to care about the health and welfare of his patients. I've been seeing him for three years now and he and his staff have not fail me yet. True, the treatment results may not always be perfect but that's how medicine works. I must say I've not had any adverse results of his treatment. Overall my life has improved under his care!
