TMS With Dr Bashir
I met with Dr. Bashir weekly while I was undergoing TMS, treatment for depression. He took time with our meetings, listened, explained, responded. It’s so hard to display empathy with a mask on, but I had no doubt about his care and concern for my well-being.

Was my doctor for about a year. I felt he had a poor "bedside manner". For instance, he'd mumble through a litany of questions completely impersonally. Then he would stop me and repeat my answers into a recording machine to dictate for his notes. Ugh. Sometimes when I couldn't understand what he'd asked due to his fast mumbling, he would heave a big sigh, rub his hand down his face, then repeat his question slower. I got the impression he hated being there, treating me. This was an awful feeling, given I was there to be treated for severe depression. The last thing I needed was to feel like I didn't matter. I only stuck with him because his office was nearby. When he left, I found a different provider that is much better, though farther away.

Dr Bashir was very dismissive during the time I was under his care. He was accusatory, degrading, and raised his voice on several occasions. I hope no one else has to suffer under his care. He is more concerned with charting than helping people who have mental illness.

Dr. Ahmed Bashir is one of the very best. He is meticulous and thorough, as he engages with a patient. It is his intellect, warmth, and genuine concern to help which sets him apart from his peers. Where others might push forward, not really listening or uninterested in what their patients reveal, Dr. Bashir remains totally engaged. He will spend extra time, if needed, to ensure that a patient understands everything discussed. This may mean a slight wait, but that tradeoff is worth it, OK by me.
