Horrible Office
Front office staff has always been beyond rude, disrespectful and just plain ignorant for the 2 years we went there. Saw the doctor only once and NEVER wanted to see him again. The only reason we continued to go there was because of his PA, she's gone and so are we. The office smells really bad also. The front desk girl slid the glass over in my husband's face 2 times while he was trying to check in and pay his co pay. Don't waste your time or money at this office. Find a place that actually cares about your health.

Breezed in, breezed out
He had his internist give about a 20 second recap, then prescribed 3 medications, one of which was for a problem I personally don't even have! It is common to the disorder, though, which is one of the tells that he was just giving me a cookie cutter response he'd give anyone with this diagnosis, not something based on my issues specifically. It was a new patient appointment but he was in the room about a minute, if that, and talked at me rather than with me. I don't think he even reviewed my chart. Also, the reception area experience was pretty terrible. Receptionist so clearly didn't want to interact with me or anyone at all. I don't normally leave reviews for doctors but this was such a frustrating experience I felt like it really needed one

MY DAD HAS BEEN OUT OF THE HOSPITAL NOW 5 DAYS WITH NO INSULIN! THE HOPSITAL REMOVED HIM FROM HIS PUMP AND CALLED IN SCRIPTS FOR MANUAL INJECTIONS. ONE SCRIPT WAS CALLED IN WRONG WITH NO INSTRUCTIONS SO THE PHARMACY WILL NO FILL IT. WE HAVE BEEN TRYING TO CONTACT DR VARANASI SINCE THEN AND TO THIS DAY WE HAVE NOT HEARD BACK FROM HIM AND MY DADS INSULIN HAS NOT BEEN CALLED IN! HOW IS THIS ACCEPTABLE?

Lack of patient education
My experience with Dr. Varanasi started out fine, but I am currently searching for a new Endo and second opinion as I do not want to waste my time anymore. From the day I met him, before he even knew my case, he was pushing for surgical removal of my thyroid. He did a biopsy and did not numb me or warn me he was going to poke me 7 times in succession. It was slightly traumatizing. I've seen his staff tip toe around him when speaking to or about him because they know his bedside manner is poor. I go for follow up a few months later and he talked to me for maybe 5 minutes. I asked him question after question trying to understand what is going on with my thyroid, what is it doing to my body, what does the bloodwork results mean etc. I get no answers from him as he constantly beats around the bush. His recommendation is surgery and won't provide me with pros and cons, what to expect, any other alternatives. I will not be going back and I will never recommend him to anyone.

Cannot recommend.
I have been seeing Dr. Varanasi for my Type 2 diabetes and thyroid issues for more than 12 years. Something happened to him a couple of years ago, don't know what, but he seemed very detached and depressed. His practice is a mess and is on the decline and he doesn't seem to care any longer. Spends less than 4 mins in the same room. He tries to push me off onto the Physicians Asst and I want to see the Dr. so I refused the asst. Now he wants to do Tele medicine which is OK occasionally but not every visit. My blood sugars are currently out of control and I cannot seem to get any help. Trying to switch Endocronologists is a nightmare as there are too few of them. definitely cannot recommend the mess this practice is. It is sad.

I was scheduled for a thyroid uptake scan, and the doctor did not tell me that I should avoid iodine for 4 weeks before the scan. I took 2 sick days from work to undergo this thorough test. When I arrived at the hospital, I learned that my doctor's office was supposed to inform me about avoiding iodine. Upon scheduling a follow-up with Dr. Varanasi, I was informed by the office staff that they were unaware of this protocol and recommended rescheduling in a month. Nobody took responsibility for the oversight, which resulted in me unnecessarily missing two days of work. Not even a simple apology was offered!

Find a new Doctor
I've been under Dr.Varanasi's care for over a year now, and lets just say I'll be looking for a new doctor. Every visit gets worse and worse. The staff to include Dr.Varanasi do not care about their patients. My insurance has been erroneously charged by the office staff, and when I addressed it they had to fumble through a mess of records to fix it. No apology was ever issued for their mistakes. Dr.Varanasi shows lack of concern and empathy for his patients conditions, and to be honest it feels like he's just there to show face and charge your insurance. I'll be changing my doctor to one who actually values their patients and their needs. Don't waste your time.

Not recommended at all. Not even 1 star.
First visit, I saw Dr. Varanasi’s partner, Claudia. Just an initial visit, no exam on me. I scheduled a date for my biopsy. I received 5 confirmations of my biopsy appointment plus the day before my biopsy, the dr’s office called me to again confirm and to wear a “next exposing” top. The day of my scheduled & confirmed biopsy appointment, I received a call 2 hours before my appointment stating that “The biopsy nurse is not in today so we will need to reschedule your biopsy for next week.” Hmmmm…. So I finally got my biopsy done: was told to take my top off and put this little paper half shirt on. I did; waited for Dr. Dr came in, I said Hi, he said he forgot something and left the room, door wide open. Eventually comes back to do my biopsy. barely a word from Dr. Varanasi, I asked if that’s all after he performed the biopsy- don’t know how many, felt like he should have explained things. I started to cry as he exited the room but asked me why I was cryin… NEED MORE ROOM TO WRITE!

Great Doctor
Dr Varanasi always listens to my concerns. He is not afraid to think outside of the box. He is quite, but I think that means he is thinking about treatment options. He isn’t rushed during my appointment. His nurse is awesome too! She always writes my prior authorizations without complaining. I would recommend this practice.

Knowledgeable and caring
Dr. Varanasi is a very knowledgeable, kind, and caring doctor. He ordered and then reviewed my son's bloodwork and scan to make a good diagnosis. He started him right away on medicine to calm his symptoms. His office staff are also kind and professional. Most importantly, my son was able to make an appointment within a few weeks not months which is vital when you are very sick. Thank you for a very efficiently run office.

Dr Varanasi is an amazing doctor! I never felt more comfortable and taken care of than I have under his care. I’m thrilled to have finally met a doctor I can trust and someone I know will be there for me if I ever need anything. Doctors like Varanasi are hard to find and I’m so glad he’s now a part of my healthcare.
