Dr. Akwasi Boateng, MD

Dr. Boateng performed surgery on me, and said he’d call in two prescriptions. He did not. It took me almost four hours the day after my surgery to get the medications filled, through no fault of the pharmacy. The doctor also scheduled me for follow up consult. When I showed up for that appointment I was not on the schedule. The doctor saw me very briefly however and told me the pathology report takes two weeks, which I know is patently untrue. He scheduled me for another appointment to review the report and, once again, there was no appointment.

I have trouble with recurring kidney stones. I’ve seen a couple other urologists who tried various procedures they were not able to break the stones up to get rid of them. Other doctors were also not proactive and waited until I’m collapsed in the emergency room before they’ll do anything. Dr Boateng is proactive, talented and highly experienced. He actually listens to my concerns and educates me. I appreciate him very much.

Dr was fine at the beginning but did not order additional tests and therefore if we did not get other opinions my husband would have received the wrong treatment! The office staff and no calls back are the worst I have ever seen . We had to drive to East Brunswick office to speak with people .The situation regarding my husbands health was time sensitive and still no response. The lab which also is part of Summit Health sent his records to a third group for analysis and we didn’t know so it made it that more difficult to get his records back . They use NJ Pathology lab and they were just as incompetent. I had to call a patient advocate for help!

In person was fine-followups, getting answers and records were beyond a disaster. We did not know their lab sent Pathology slides ro an outside hospital for another opinion.

Dr. Boateng has very good bedside manners, he listens and answers all your questions. He knowledgeable and treated my condition with the utmost professionalism. I could not ask for more. I am very happy with the service he provided me.

didn't do what he was supposed to. did not inspect the patient properly and wrote recommendations that did not pertain AT ALL to the patient

Down to earth, gave appropriate time, explains cause and findings, highly recommended. Kidney stone surgery was handled diligently.

Dr. Boateng is very professional and knowledgeable in his field. He earned my trust right away. He is also young so I know he will have a great future helping people. I would highly recommend Dr. Boateng to my family and friends.
