Arrogant and would not listen to us
My mom was in Providence Park hospital (Novi location) this week (1/14-1/17/24) and the 2 days we saw Dr. Shuker my mom and I both found him to be arrogant and not willing to let US communicate our concerns - he talked over us. Not impressed. Additionally, he left the hospital 4 hours after saying my mom was to be discharged - without finishing the discharge procedures!!! It wasn’t until I went and got a wheelchair for my mom and said we were leaving - was action taken to call his cell phone and get him to finish the discharge procedures.

Run as fast as you can from this doctor
Dr. S SHhuker said my loved one would be dead in two days there was nothing more that could be done. Then discharged my loved one. Never explained why never called me. I had a very bad experience. Being told my loved one would die, and then being discharged and told that my loved one could possibly thrive and that Dr. Shuker should’ve never told me that he was not thriving. Get a second opinion, do not trust his words.

Intelligent, compassionate, and understanding.
I’ve been seeing Dr. Shuker for many years, and have found him to be exceedingly smart and friendly, never condescending, with a terrific bedside manner and great sense of humor. Most importantly, he is patient and willing to listen to my opinions and concerns. He will push for tests he deems vital, but never criticizes when I fail to follow through. He has seen me through joint replacement surgery, tongue cancer with radical neck dissection, radiation therapy (awful), pain management, polyarthritis, Graves’ disease (controlled/healed), peptic ulcers (healed), difficult to control blood pressure, and cardiac arrhythmias with subsequent ablations. Even though my body is steadily falling apart, Dr. Shuker remains devoted, diligent and supportive. There is nothing bad to say about the man or his care. In light of all his special qualities, I would never be so petty as to gripe about an occasional long wait or a rare grumpy office staff. Wish there were more docs like him.

Disabled Veteran
I was brought by ambulance for a stroke. Multiple tests done and was admitted and brought to my room. Doctor Shuker came to my room, had me move my toes/feet back and forth in my bed and discharged me. He never had me walk, write, move my arms or legs. Went to the VA and they said that I should have been brought by ambulance to them if he didn't want to treat me. The diagnosis from the VA was an MRI negative stroke. I feel that he didn't want to treat me because I only had insurance from the VA. I couldn't walk, write, move my arm or open my hand.

Horrendous physician. I don't think he knows what he's talking about, and the care he provides is terrible. I feared for my safety at times while under this persons care. Would never recommend this man to anyone.

Dr. Shuker cared for my mother just under a year ago. She had trauma that resulted in a brain bleed. I`ll spare the details, but the surgeon who installed the drain, said that most people don`t survive this type of (arterial) brain bleed. I cared for Dr. Shuker right off the bat, as did my whole family. He is one of the most caring, genuine, generous, kind doctors - slash that, people, whom I`ve ever met. He is a one of a kind person and an amazing doctor. Ironically, my dad suffered a different type of brain bleed recently and we were fortunate enough to have him as my dad`s physician this time. Nothing has changed, except that my dad`s situation was more complicated and we were truly able to see his passon, dedication, and respect for his patient`s and their families. I would not hesitate to see Dr. Shuker myself or send my children to him. Hopefully, that will never happen, but I trust Dr. Shuker implicitly! One of a kind! From the bottoms of our collective hearts, THANK YOU!

Ive many good reviews about Dr. Shuker. They are all true. He is honest, helpful, and sincere. I could go on an on. The review about the 2 hours is probably true sometimes. I have waited with no regrets. That is how many people love Dr. Shuker. He was my husband's doctor prior to his passing. I will always be grateful for the care, patience, honesty and time he put into my husband's care. He is one of the greatest physician's that I know and respect. He gives everyone his time. So I recommend to anyone, if you make an appointment, be prepared to wait sometimes. It's not all the time. Things happen, may be another patient that has something more complicated. You never know. But I can assure you it is worth the wait and he will give you the same quality time. All of my ratings should have been great 5 rating , it would not allow me correct the error.

We were looking for a new doctor and we were familiar with Dr. Shuker from my mother's stay in a hospital several years ago. I called & asked several questions - #1 for us was what kind of wait is there to actually see the doctor after appointment time. I was told at worst up to 30 mins. Sounds good but after over 2 hours we saw no one, not even an update. We left - no one should be kept waiting that long - our time is important too!!! Time to find someone else!

He is a very underrated hands down one of best i have ever been healed by . He takes time to talk to in a very clam voice . A Major plus from the DR is he listens to your every word . All hospitals i have been to the DR will fight with you to wear it a CPAP mask. Being severely Claustrophobia the second they clamp my face into it my Panic Attacks kick in high gear and my breathing gets 100 tiimes as hard even my bad heart will start . When i told this to DR Shucker he said fine used a diffrent
