Don’t believe the negative reviews!
Totally Happy with Dr Alvarez on all levels…. His bedside manners are professional yet very friendly and caring, his staff are completely thorough in gathering medical history, his expertise on Rheumatoid Disorders are excellent, his treatment suggestions are completely explained in detail and he takes the time to answer your questions and address your concerns. I’m a retired RN and couldn’t be happier with Dr. Alvarez!

My wife has Auto Immune Disorder... I'm a MD...
Brought my wife in to see Dr Alvarez for the new onset of a some sort of auto immune disorder. Maybe SLE, or something else. I'm and MD so I know a bit. I was extremely impressed with his knowledge and the careful nature of the his exam and history taking. My wife has a very bad condition, but I have confidence Dr Alvarez will provide the best level of treatment possible. And yeah, I have high standards as an MD, no hesitancy to call out (condemn) anything that does not measure up. Now we just have to hope the disease 'cooperates'. What else can I say?

Terrible visit!
I was looking for a rheumatologist because my insurance dropped my dr in Boca Raton. I booked an appt with Dr. Alvarez and I never got to see him. His PA was terrible and didn’t listen to me! He asked me the same questions twice. I would never recommend this group. You never get to see the doctor!

Dr. Alvarez changed my life - he identified that I have Ankylosing Spondylitis and prescribed me a biologic that enables me to live a normal life again. He seems to really care, and always spends plenty of time with me during each visit. We are all very fortunate to have him in Naples, FL.

Different Opinion
I left a 1 review previously but I do not think their phone rings I drove to The office and spoke to William whom was a 5 all the way.. and He got me an appointment 1 week away from today. He was very very polite and to him goes a 5. I have not seen a MD yet I will see Alpers. Both I hear are very good. If you need an appointment . I would go in Person.

Best rheumatologist I’ve ever had
Dr. Alvarez goes above and beyond expectations. I have had 6different rheumatologist in 9 years since I was diagnosed. I believe my condition of psoriatic arthritis has gotten worse because of the lack of care & overall negligence that I received from the other doctors. Sr.Alvarez is professional, gentle and listens, and therefore properly treats. I highly highly recommend him!

Dr. Alvarez is my third RA Doc. (I've moved a few times....) Overall very good. Dr. Alvarez and staff do the basic overviews and checks my blood test and gives me any updates. I'm comfortable with the level of care provided. Many RA doc's just come in the room and look at my hands or feet and ask a few questions....Dr. Alvarez actually takes the time to ask relevant questions (Am I able to do daily task....any new issues...how is my energy level....etc...). A few of the 'complaints' I've seen on reviews have to do with the scheduling....the phone prompts are a lot, but they are broken down if you listen to them to get you to the right person.Much more efficient than having a desk person take all calls. As RA Docs go, Dr. Alvarez is well above average. I would recommend.

Dr. Alvarez is the third rheumatologist who has had me as a patient, for two and a half years now. Far better than anyone else's, his specialization in internal medicine enables him to look at the patient with an overall -as well as detailed- perspective of his/her conditions. He has relentlessly tried different medications and remedies to alleviate my RA symptoms, always providing thorough explanations and answering my questions. He is really interested in the patient's conditions. He is personable and concerned for the life quality an RA patient can lead. MOST RECOMMENDED! Anna Bowe

Great physician and nurse was very professional and knowledgeable and helped me get my medication to me quick. Office needs more staff in order to accommodate patients in a more timely manner especially when it comes to answering the phone. Overall a pleasant experience and a highly recommended physician!

Terrible clinic. I typically don’t write reviews but if you are in need of a rheumatologist office who listens or returns calls, this isn’t the one! I was a new patient, seen weeks ago and was put on a new medication after being recently diagnosed with an autoimmune disease.... Leslie the MA didn’t listen to any of my concerns I had, when I repeatedly called telling her I could get my RX filled quicker at a different location. It’s been over three weeks, I was seen by a new doctor, who called in my RX at the clinic I told Leslie to, and had it filled in 2 days! What a waste of time! I also noticed they put i am a smoker on my history which I never smoked, no one will return my call to update my chart. Horrible clinic. I’m married to a physician and very upset with how this office treated me.... I do not recommend! Staff need training
