I went in for an annual skin check and was not given a thorough exam - he only gave my arms/legs a cursory glance. I had to ask him to look at several freckles elsewhere on my body, after which he agreed one looked "weird" and biopsied it. I also asked about what I could do about the KP on my legs because I am very self conscious about it, but was curtly told that there's nothing I can do unless I want to spend tens of thousands on electrolysis procedures; he offered no other practical advice. I left feeling embarrassed and wish I had read these reviews before my appointment instead of letting Vanderbilt assign whichever doctor they had available to my case.

Been a while since I was there to be seen by Dr. Boyd. However, gorillas have a better bedside manner than the guy who saw me.

Personally insulted me. Rushed through the exam and ran out the door in under 3 minutes. I had to ask the nurse to have him to come back for the specific issues I had. Did not do a full body exam. I've never left a doctor's appointment so upset

worst physician encounter I ever had. Answered no questions or commented about my concern after a skin biopsy elsewhere showed cancer, but Vanderbilt's opinion was benign. administered a superficial treatment, left the room without further comment, followed him and answered what next, no comment?

Dr. Boyd looked at my skin, said it was nothing, just a patch of thick skin. Two years later it's worse and it turned out to be a cancer. I would never recommend Dr. Boyd or Vanderbilt to anyone.

Called to schedule an appointment with Dr. Alan Boyd and left a message. The person who returned the call was VERY rude, stating 'You need to inform your doctor that we do not accept Medicaid insurance!' Please be aware that when a human being is suffering is denied medical care..... you need your office staff to be more compassionate & empathetic and remind them that they represent your practice.

Dr. Boyd has the worst staff ever. Always missing deadlines, so I couldn't get my medication in time. You call them and they hang up on your face and leave you on hold forever on purpose.

I have been struggling with a rash and also I have to be checked yearly because of family history of melanoma. Absolutely no help at all! Practically pushing me out the door. said oh that's just from age and that is gone now. do not go there if you have any type of skin rash. Dr. Alan Boyd is not helpful as he barely examine you and really make you feel uncomfortable. I had moles also I will be getting a second opinion. DO NOT risk your health here.

No help at all! – Jun 16, 2018

First up: Vanderbilt has horrible customer service and Dr. Alan Boyd isn't much better. Had an appointment at 1:30 and I inquire 2:00 how much longer and they say another 30-40 minutes. They never said anything or did anything to let me know Dr. Boyd was running that far behind. Have some respect for your patient's time.

Dr. Boyd misdiagnosed my melanoma. I had a spot on my head which Dr. Boyd attributed to a freckle from sun exposure. The condition became worse with time. Call to his office but with, no response. I eventually called my GP who took control of situation. Will NEVER use this Dr. Boyd or Vanderbilt again.

Never in my life have I witness such gross incompetence as I have experienced with Vanderbilt Dermatology. They have all but railroaded my daughter. Never once has Dr. Boyd considered her patient rights. I am simply appalled!

Haughty and arrogant. As my doctor, Dr. Boyd actually told me he is bar none the best there is in the business and that every other doctor in town sucked. This was my first and last encounter with him. I don't trust people, especially doctors, who give themselves credit by putting others down. You have been warned.

My grandmother, a fit 78-year-old who is strong and dignified, was treated extremely poorly at her last visit. Dr. Boyd appears to be a good physician, but he was arrogant about his abilities to a point that he was emotionally abusive when my grandmother voiced uncertainty about returning to him. Furthermore, and most upsettingly, he demeaned and disrespected her, and then seemed to enjoy her solemn self-defense, even suggesting she liked his behavior toward her. We're disgusted and enraged.
