I’m extremely pleased with my visit with Dr. Herline and his APRN Robyn. I was experiencing discomfort and between the APRN and Dr. Herline, I was diagnosed and taken to surgery. I felt heard every step of the way. The staff was very professional and welcoming. They greeted you with a smile from the time you walked in to the time your visit was over. I’m no longer having my discomfort and that’s all thanks to Dr.Herline and his Amazing APRN! Thank you all

If you get the opportunity to have this man perform your surgery, jump on it!! He is the Cheif of colorectal surgery, often has students tailing him to learn his skills, and has done research in his field. On top of that he is extremely kind, patient, and compassionate! I was struggling for about a year and a half, I saw every surgeon that took my insurance and rejected them all, when I finally came to Dr Herline I was still scared to have the surgery but knew he would be the one to do it. He helped me overcome my fear, and more importantly the surgery went perfectly and I got my life back to normal. I was just discharged from Memorial Miramar with a desperate situation that this location couldn’t help me There advise contact a specialist. Has anyone tried to schedule an appointment with a specialist where you were never a patient. We called his office manager who took time to listen to our story and got us in for a consult in 3 days with a nurse practitioner . Things took a turn for the worse so I desperately went to the ER where he was performing surgery. The ER Dr who was also an amazingly compassionate person took a look at my situation and called Dr Herline who was in the hospital. He came to the ER put his hand on my shoulder looked me in the eye, told me to calm down “ this is what I do”. He told me what was going on, admitted me, it was a Friday and performed surgery the next day at 8 am. A five star surgeon and a 5 star human being. I could never thank him enough. His crew was amazing and everyone I encountered at Memorial West were true care givers

Doctor was very helpful, talked to us about the procedure very respectful and friendly, made us feel very comfortable. Receptionist, medical staff was also helpful and friendly.

I have a very complicated case of diverticulitis with a fistula. I met with Dr Herline while I was in the hospital and we discussed my options. He was very compassionate, answered all of my questions and made me feel at ease. I went to his office yesterday for an appointment and his staff is incredible! My surgery is scheduled for this Wednesday and I'm confident that I'm in good hands and he'll be able to repair my problem and get me better. A BIG thank you to Dr Herline and his staff!

Meeting Dr. Herline for the 1st time; faced with the fear of Rectal cancer. He was kind, gentle, reassuring, took the time (and patience) to include my husband via phone in the conversation. He made sure that we both understood the “no need to fear” realty of his findings and tbh, his entire demeanor was so impressive, I’d recommend him 100%. Passing grade on all levels. I have been a believer in using Health Grades to find top doctors and hospitals for about 5 years now. I had a stricture from a previous surgery that after numerous treatments to open, had to be removed. On two previous colon resections I was in the hospital 5 to 7 days. When Dr. Herline explained I would be hospitalized for only 2 to 3 days and would recover at home I could hardly believe him. Dr. Herline and his staff were exemplary, they explained everything to me and scheduled my surgery for 2 weeks later. The surgery was on Wednesday morning, I went home on Friday afternoon. Dr. Herline and his staff visited me in my room multple times each day to manage my progress. That in conjuction with the outstanding nursing care I receved from Memorial West hospital continues to make me a believer in using Health Grades to find the best doctors and hospitals. I rely on my wife a registered nurse of 47 years in the selection process. She was totally impressed with Dr. Herline as well.

It was fast, pleasant. and comfortable, the staff are great and very professional. I was scared do to other complications in my life but the doctor and staff made sure that I was relaxed and well taking care off.

I was referred to Dr Alan Herline from a great gastroenterologist (Dr Brian Dooreck). This was a very emotional appointment for me as I had to describe, in detail, the unmanageable problem I have. Dr. Herline was extremely kind and gentle. He has a wonderful manner where he looks you in the eye, calmly listens and tells you he is there to help. He created a treatment plan for me. His wonderful staff of Carmen, Anna H., Kim, Lisy, Denise, Meghan Miller PA, took care of all explanations, my appointments for future therapy and insurance paperwork needs. They returned calls and were very understanding about my circumstances and emotional state. Dr. Herline has provided some hope for a life that can be reasonably normal. I am very grateful to him and his entire staff.

It was my first meeting with Dr. Herline, and I must say in spite of the reason for having to see him, the encounter was very pleasant. He listened to my concerns and his responses were delivered with a definitive air of confidence. I feel that I can trust in his medical advice without hesitation.

I entered the ER and was told I had Intussusception, a very painful moment. I met Dr. Herline that evening. His demeanor and attitude made me feel safe and comfortable. Dr. Herline explained the procedure, and the fact it was extremely rare in adults. The surgery went well and Dr. Herline visited my room daily to check on my healing. Luckily, as odd as it may seem, I was lucky to be opened up. As it turned out my appendix had cancer, but was at the earliest stage. Dr. Herline was kind and professional throughout the process. I highly recommend him and if I ever have another problem he will be my surgeon for sure.

My husband describes Dr. Herline as a true gentleman. He is an excellent surgeon who will take his time to explain your procedure in language you can understand. He will tell you your risks, benefits and what to expect from surgery. I found him, and his entire office staff, to be top-notch. Friendly, pleasant and very professional. I would highly recommend this surgeon. My results were amazing and I had my surgery within 3 weeks of my first office visit.
