Tympanoplasty done, recommend this doctor.
I had a tympanoplasty done by Dr Micco, it was done cleanly with no issues and the service provided after surgery was awesome, answered all of my questions.

Cochlear Implant with Dr. Alan Micco
Surgery as far as we know (2 weeks in) was successful and for that I am grateful. Wait time prior to surgery was excessive. Arrived at 10 for surgery at 12:30. Waited with IV in arm from 10:30 to surgery at 4:30. Surgical delay resulted in delayed recovery (8:30 PM). Husband had to hike needed meds from 2 non-hospital pharmacies. No fully detailed description given in advance of what surgery entailed, although what questions I thought of were answered. Patient expected to check in daily using a "GetWell" app, which has canned questions and little flexibility for patient commentary. One of my questions, asked over the weekend, was never responded to by staff. Weekend (Sunday coverage) is desirable, especially if you have an eergency. If you want a warm and fuzzy experience, this is not yet available, but the surgery itself is excellent.

Terrific Surgeon
Dr.Micco is great, my surgery went very smoothly and well. He took his time throughout the whole process through consultation, work up, surgery, and post surgery with check ins. A very knowledgeable provider that works hard and honestly.

Amazing Surgeon
He spotted the potential issues before I ever went under for surgery. He alerted me of the necessary precautions and preparation that was necessary to allow the procedure to have no real issues

Dr. Micco came highly recommended by many of my friends. He communicated well. I understood the the procedure and felt confident in his hands. The nurses that prepared me for surgery we’re excellent. I am four weeks out from the surgery and believe my healing process is going according to plan. I am pleased to have the implant and have begun my training that is needed to clearly hear speech. All my friends say wearing their CI has made understanding speech better and better as time went on. Of course they have done their training and continue to do so.

Dr. Micco is amazing. He is knowledgeable, detailed and very informative. He is caring, and amazingly responds to questions faster than would be expected (knowing he's busy). He is focused on his patients best interests and success. I feel very fortunate to have him as my ENT.

During the long time that I have been treated by Dr. Micco, he has consistently been both professional and compassionate. He is renown is his field, yet down-to-earth and easy to engage. He asks questions and then he listens. He never seems to be in a hurry. This is a rare quality not found in all physicians today. I have recommended him to several friends over the last 20 years and they have all experienced the same expert care that he has provided to me.

I had a phone apt, so it's fair to say that can make it hard to get fully assessed. However, I felt as though some(not all) of my questions were brushed off. At one point, he said my "x-rays" looked fine, but I didn't have x-rays, I had MRI & a CT(but CT was done prior to vertigo & for different reason). So I still don't feel certain there is no inner ear issue(& do inner ear issues show up on mri without contrast?). When mri was done, it was just to rule out small stroke at my request because the onset of vertigo was the worst I've ever felt..not sure radiologist even looked at inner ear. But I do question a couple things I see on both mri & CT inner ear area, but not sure I'll ever get answers as to what I see. If I'd been able to go to apt in person, I would have pulled up my scan images and asked exactly what I'm seeing. Very few doctors go through imaging questions with you, wish they would. I've caught a couple things radiology missed over the years, always worth asking.
