My husband went for his first visit with Dr. Zacharias today. He has had a multitude of medical issues but when all the physical issues were addressed, we needed to know if any of the remaining ones were neurologically based. Getting an appointment took some time but he came so well recommended I was will to wait. He had gone over my husband's medical records extensively before we arrived. These were records from a number of doctors in Boulder, Anschutz and Mayo. We've become pretty good at weeding out doctors that should have chosen another profession. Dr. Zacharias was extremely thorough and answered any questions we had, and there were a lot. We didn't feel rushed and he let us know he would be available if we had any additional questions or needed to see him again. Medicine is not an exact science, no matter how far we've come, but I couldn't have asked for a more complete and gratifying visit.

Dr Zacharias has been caring for me since my epilepsy came back with a vengeance a few years ago. He is always pleasant, respectful and interested in ensuring I am as confident as possible. I appreciate his attitude and support. We tried a couple of medications and have landed on one which suits me perfectly.

From the begining of my neurological problems Dr. Z told me he didn't know the cause and it would probably go away on it's own. He did point out a cyst in my brain, but insisted it was not the cause. I have continued to get worse. I've had migrains for over 2 months now. Getting in to see him for more tests was impossible and when i did get the tests done and they were negative or inconclusive for the most common neurological conditions, he still insited the cyst isn't causing my symptoms. He will give it no credence, even though it makes the most sense. It is the most obvious thing, but he won't listen to me. He won't probe for more questions. He told me i just need to live with my pain, that nothing more can be done, even though there are more tests and he should be getting a Neurosurgeon involved. Now i have to find a new doctor and start the process over again. It will take months. I don't think i have that long. If this cyst ruptures and i die in the mean time, my family will sue.

My spouse with a brain injury and I had a terribly frustrating, nonsensical 'consult' with Zacharias last week. He was supposed to evaluate my spouse to check his current condition as a precurosr to rehab which he had never received. After a half hour of chit chat we asked him when he would do the evaluation and he said "I'm doing it now"! He was very withholding, not answering our questions, did not offer anything in the way of help, was cold, curt and dismissive. I don't understand these reviews where the patient says that Zacharias was great. He must have a doppelganger. I would never recommend him to anyone for anything. And it cost $50 for nothing.

I've been seeing Dr. Zacharias for over 10 years for Multiple Sclerosis. He is good at explaining things, answers all my questions and listens to my concerns. When talking about treatment options, we talk about pros /cons and decide together the next step. I always feel valued and respected not only by Dr. Zacharias but his entire staff.

Dr. Zacharias listened to me patiently and figured out what my problem is. To finally have a diagnosis helps tremendously. He recommended several treatments that made sense. I am glad I went to him and would highly recommend him.

Dr. Zacharias has been my Neurologist for years & he’s worked really hard & done everything he can to help me with my chronic migraines & chronic headaches. He’s always nice & always listens. I’d easily recommend him to any one of my friends who needed a Neurologist. Side note: I am currently receiving Botox for my migraines from him & he let me listen to music on my earbuds while he gave me the shots (in my head & face). Helped exponentially. I know plenty of docs who would’ve said no.

After 2½ yrs & 5 neurologists, each passing me to the next, Dr. Zacharias diagnosed me at Emory Univ Med in Atlanta GA. He moved & I was back on the neurologist merry-go-round. I got worse 11/2016 & Googled Dr. Zacharias. It took 6 wks for 1st appt, a few days for 2nd. It takes us 8+ hrs to get to Boulder, but I trust him, he listens, answers my questions, & asst, Dani is kind & helpful. He is the only truly compassionate neurologist that I've seen in 20 yrs.

I have progressive multiple sclerosis and have seen Dr. Z 6 years In those years Dr Z did virtually nothing to treat me and showed an alarming disinterest or knowledge of current research in the field. In addition I found Dr Z's bedside manner to be cold and arrogant. Thank god I was referred to a different neurologist who immediately has switched me to a newer, more aggressive drug to slow the progression and has recommended wonderful therapies to treat my symptoms. I DO NOT RECOMMEND Dr Z

I am deeply dissatisfied by my experience with Dr. Zacharias. Not only did he fail to find the correct diagnosis (having instead diagnosed me with a terminal illness), he never returned any of my phone calls once I was rediagnosed. Prior to this, I had one short call with him in which he sounded impatient and annoyed with my questions (despite the severity of my health condition.) He failed to tell me to get contrast for an MRI, which I now need to redo, or send test results to current doctor.

I have seen Dr. Zacharias for over 12 years. I have developed a chronic condition that is extremely painful and really has no cure. Dr. Zacharias has been there, by my side every step of the way. He would put me in hospital for IV pain treatments if the pain was too bad to try to give me some relief. He would search around the country for new and even experimental procedures that different neurologists might be doing. I have NEVER had a physician go to the mat for me like Dr. Zacharias.

I like the doctor, but scheduling is awful. I needed to reschedule my annual apt and was told they wouldn't refill my prescription until I came in. I told them I would come in as soon as possible, but they don't have any appointments for 2 months so now I need to find a new neurologist just so I can get my medicine. Not helpful, not willing to work with me on scheduling/refilling my prescription and in turn putting me at risk for seizures. They clearly do not care about their patients.

I would recommend Dr. Zacharias to anyone who I thought could benefit from his help. I met with Dr. Zacharias for the first time last week for an EMG, he was the most helpful and professional of anyone I have had one of these tests performed by, and I have had several, all from different doctors.
