Dr. Albert Fenoy Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) Surg
Dr. Albert Fenoy is an excellent, experienced Neurosurgeon at Northwell Health North Shore University Hospital. He performed Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) Surgery on me. I had severe Parkinson's Disease (PD) symptoms, and the drugs were wearing off, and not helping. He hit the sweet spot in the brain. The results were amazing! The stiffness & rigidity went away almost immediately. It was fantastic, almost miraculous! Me & my Neurologist are working on reducing the tremors using the electrical pulse generator. Wow! I got my life back! I can do so much more now. Definitely a big increase in my quality of life. If you have PD, and you are a candidate for the DBS Surgery, I highly recommend Dr. Fenoy.

Arrogant Doctor
I saw Dr. Fenoy to talk about a DBS device for a significantly impairing brain disorder. He spent the VAST majority of the appointment talking about how hard it has been for him to deal with insurance for similar cases. He kept requesting I find a way to get my childhood mental health records (I'm in my 30s) even after I said my parents didn't keep the formal records. Dr. Fenoy agreed to move forward with seeking the treatment. He told me to keep searching for records which no longer exist and said he would arrange for an appointment with another doctor for next steps. That never happened. Thankfully, I connected to a truly amazing surgeon, and had the life changing brain surgery; with no problems with insurance when my doctor talked to BCBS despite not having my childhood records. I imagine Dr. Fenoy left the appointment thinking he helped me....he doesn't seem to read a room well and I'm pretty sure he has no idea how hopeless and direction less he left me that day.

Treated for Dystonia
I was diagnosed with dystonia in 2021 and prescription medications did not alleviate the symptoms of involuntary eye closing, tremors in my hands and difficulty swallowing. In fact, the symptoms were getting worse over time, especially difficulty in swallowing. My doctors said brain surgery was the next necessary step. In November 2021, I consulted Dr. Albert John Fenoy, and he told me the symptoms I was experiencing could be reduced in severity or eliminated entirely with deep brain stimulation surgery. Two electrodes would be inserted into my brain. Two weeks later a computer and battery are implanted in my chest and wires are run internally up my neck and inside my scalp to the electrodes in my brain. Then, about two weeks after the surgeries, they program the unit to eliminate or reduce, all my symptoms. I have now had the procedures completed and I can tell you he was COMPLETELY correct. My discomfort during, and after, the procedures was minimal. I spent one night in the hosp

A BIG Shout Out to Dr. Fenoy, Pam & their team! In early 2018, I woke up one morning and couldn’t walk! I suffered in excruciating pain 24/7 for 3 years until consulting with Dr. Fenoy, and after attempts to fix the problem without surgery, we made the decision to have surgery on June 24, 2021. 3 1/2 months after surgery, I’m no longer in pain 24/7, and improving every week! If you are in a similar situation, please do not hesitate to make an appointment. It changed my life!

So far, I have had a pleasant experience. He was patient in answering my questions and I asked a lot. He was engaging in his responses. I will be having DBS on September 2, 2019. I will report after the surgery. If anyone else sees this and has had Dr Fenoy perform DBS, I would appreciate an email to dwhite@fmwcpas.com.

This was the worst experience I've ever had with a doctor. My questions were not listened to, neither were my concerns. He showed the source of my pain as being an old injury, and stuck to that - even after I told him that was not the location of my pain. I repeatedly told and showed him where I was hurting and he did not focus on that at all. I waited 3 weeks for an appointment, and then an hour and a half AFTER my appointment time just to see him. He spent maybe 10 minutes in the room with me, rushed through the appointment - and didn't or couldn't answer the concerns and questions I raised. I do NOT recommend him and will not be going back for a follow up. He referred me to a pain management doctor despite me telling him I did not want temporary relief/pills as I do not like them. Please do not waste your time with this doctor.

Dr. Fenoy did not spend time to answer questions. I asked a question and he turned to a staff member and told her that he did not have time to answer these sorts of questions. He did not even respond to me. Instead, he gave me a look of disgust and turned to speak to the other staff member.

I had a very good experience with Dr Fenoy and staff. Dr Fenoy thoroughly explained what the surgery (laminectomy) would involve. The entire team from the first office visit, through pre-op, the stay in the hospital, to post-op contributed to my comfort and encouragement that I had made the right choice to have the surgery. I would like to acknowledge Madeline who works in the office for going the extra mile during pre-op and post-op visits. Her professionalism and kindness is excellent!

Left his office crying. He spent ten minutes with me. Said he could implant some neuro pain object in me, I declined, he then said there is no reason for my pain. Had I agreed I guess he would have implanted the device. My impression was that if he can't do surgery with insurance then he has no use for me. I would not recommend to anyone.

Read my MRI of effected area, I was dismissed without any professional curiosity as to why I was in pain and my MRI was "normal". He will recommend you to a friend for physical therapy when he says nothing's wrong but will treat you like a liar and dismiss you without further efforts to use his degree. No wonder he has so many cancelations and no shows. In summation, "I guess he forgot about his oath to treat the I'll." I will go to the VA on the taxpayers $$ so as to quit wasting mine.

After 8 years of daily pain Dr. Fenoy did a 3-level cervical fusion on me May 9th. I have NO cervical pain now and I am forever grateful. Shannon (PA) is wonderful. They just work so well together and with such ease. All the staff starting with Alma and Willie who you meet coming in are so friendly and professional. This is how all doctors offices should be. You owe it to yourself to make an appt with Dr. Fenoy if you are looking for the Best.

I have been in pain for 3 years now and have had several injections done nothing worked. I had other doctors tell me they couldn't help me. Dr. Fenoy sat down with me and said he could help me and help me he did. I am 2 weeks post op and I would say so far I am at least 75% better if not more. Love the doctor and the staff.
