Dr. Alejandra Alvarez Wilson, MD

Dr. Alvarez Wilson has made a positive impact on my health awareness. She has proven herself as my gyn, and OB, to be extremely capable and the person I want in the room for emergencies.

Dr. Alvarez Wilson was a fine Gynecologist (I saw her for ten years) but I I was very unhappy with her as my obstetrician. She is very impersonal and at a time that should be the happiest, her poor bedside manner made it hard to look forward to child birth. My appointments were all very rushed. She did not deliver my child as she was not on call but at my 6 week check up she asked “what did you have again?” (My daughter was right next to me). At this same check up I asked for results from a test performed during birth and she said “I am sure it is fine”-ignoring my concern. She Saw me for 7 minutes and left. I have since switched providers.

I thought she was unprofessional, lacked bedside manner, ignored my pain and concerns.

My initial visit with her was in January of 2019. Her bedside manners were not great. After my exam was over she explained there were concerns with me that did not require immediate attention, but to make an appointment to come back and see her. She stated she would perform an ultrasound on me and based on the results we would discuss options. August of 2019 I chose to go back to her for my ultrasound as Dr Alvarez requested. When she came in the room again her bedside manners were poor. She came in and sat in the chair nearest the door as if I had a disease. Dr Alejandra Alvarez then let me know she can not perform the ultrasound on me because she does not know how to read it. I reminded her she requested I come back to her. She asked where would I like to go and wrote me a referral and charged for a full office visit. I called her office to dispute the visit explaining she could have wrote a referral at my initial Visit. She said it stands. I find her unethical and inconsiderate.

I highly recommend Dr. Alvarez-Wilson. She was recommended by a coworker, and I am so glad. She cared for me during and after my pregnancy and delivered my child. She is kind, patient, and professional, and valued my preferences during a difficult delivery. She also had excellent communication. Her office staff is incredible, and the practice runs like a well-oiled machine.

I'm a big fan of Dr. Alvarez-Wilson. She's extraordinarily competent, but also very laid back. I think her laid back nature could come off as being aloof to the more intense patients, but I appreciated it. When I had to get an unplanned c-section, I was extra-happy that she was my doctor. I learned from all of my nurses that she is an excellent surgeon. She did a great job with a tricky operation and sewed me up beautifully! A+ for Dr. Alvarez-Wilson!

She is always discreet and has a warm loving personality. Makes you feel like your old friends. :)
