Blah doctor, great surgeon?
I went in because I had a vertigo flare-up. He was nice, but interrupted me and talked over me. He did what I felt was a quick but decent exam, and he was professional and to the point. I did feel rushed, and I felt he "talked at me" rather than explained things. He did not look me in the eye and LISTEN. He did attempt a joke--I asked if it was OK that I sleep on my side with vertigo, and he quickly said, "No, you need to sleep upright." But then he didn't smile, so I thought he was serious. Was he making fun of my "dumb" question? Then he joked that I needed to stand upright to sleep, so at that point, I knew he was joking. It was awkward, but I appreciated the attempt at humor. Overall, bedside manner leaves a lot to be desired, but this is how many surgeons are. From other reviews, his surgical patients seem very pleased with him. So if you're looking for a doc to sit with you and connect, he's not your guy. But I suspect he's a great surgeon, and others seem to agree.

would benefit from listening better
In my opinion, he seemed to force a diagnosis without actually listening to the details of my own personal history that I tried to explain to him. I also felt he had a fairly arrogant manner. I would not see him again and I would not recommend him to others.

I can't say enough good things about Dr. Guchinskiy. I have to admit, I was a little nervous at the prospect of having a total thyroidectomy (my first surgery ever)! I immediately felt at ease once I had my first consultation with Dr. Guchinskiy. He thoroughly described my condition, the actual procedure that was going to be performed, and what to expect afterwards. The surgery was successful and all went well. He is a true professional, but is super friendly with a great sense of humor! I 100% recommend Dr. Guchinskiy.

I had a good experience with Dr. Guchinskiy. My operation went well and without any issues. Dr. Guchinskiy is short and to the point and does not sugar coat anything. He is how a medical professional should be, honest and direct with any concerns.

I definitely don't recommend Dr. Guchinskiy. I went to see him after experiencing recurring throat and tonsil pain. He spent about 5 seconds looking my mouth and feeling around the affected area. He said that nothing looked wrong to him, even though I was still experiencing pain. He offered no help and no resolution to my problem. He also came across quite rude rude and condescending. He seemed annoyed when I would ask for clarification on certain things. 0/10 would not recommend.

I honestly can’t see how some reviewers say this doctor doesn’t listen. He was exceptional I. This area. He actually drew my daughter out with questions to really understand her concerns and problems. Also the staff were all VERY friendly and helpful.

No bedside manner. Contradicted everything I said and any opinion from other doctors that I shared with him to fill him in. Cut me off at nearly every sentence. Thanks but no thanks. First and last visit. Never again.

Extremely unprofessional. Disputed and contradicted everything we said. We came to ENT because multiple pediatricians stated huge concern for tonsils and ear infections for my daughter. Completely dismissed recommendations from other health care professionals with their concerns on tubes and tonsils. My family felt like he was a detective looking for faults in our timelines of events.

Dr. Guchinskiy performed my 5 year old son’s adenoid and tonsil surgery almost a year ago. He was incredibly knowledgeable, comforting, and well mannered, making us all feel very safe and confident going through what was my son’s first – and only – surgery. The surgery went extremely well and my son had an excellent recovery. He has not had a single ear infection since before the surgery and now sleeps the entire night without waking up unable to breathe. I highly recommend this doctor!
