He's the doctor you want
Dr. Cranwell reminds me of Dr. House, but without being rude. You can tell off the bat that he's extremely knowledgeable and detail oriented. If you're dealing with urological issues, you don't want to settle with your physician. Happy I went with the best.

Wonderful bedside manner. Caring!
I was in the emergency room with quite a large kidney stone that required some assistance. Dr. Cranwell listened to my concerns and made me feel at ease during a very stressful time. I was very surprised to see that he came in on his day off to see how I was doing. He is definitely a Dr. that I would recommend over and over. Excellent bedside manner 10 out of 10

Thorough, responsive, and kind
I've been battling kidney stones for over 20 years, and I've had three other urologists over the years. Dr. Cranwell has more knowledge of any of the previous three and has been so responsive (even squoze me in for a procedure in 24 hours when he heard how severe my pain was.) He called me at home in response to a non-urgent email, and the list goes on. He checks off all the boxes any patient would want in a doctor.

Changed providers after two encounters with him
Dr. Cranwell performed surgery on me in May of '23. I was familiar with my condition and understood why the scheduled procedure was being done. I didn't speak to or meet with Dr. Cranwell at all prior to the day of surgery. When we met before surgery, he Told me he was doing a much more invasive procedure, with potentially life-altering side effects, with no consultation or discussion, just said 'this is what I'm doing to you.' I balked, denied permission, and told him why. He seemed put out, as if I was being impertinent for advocating for myself. While reviewing my med list, he also indirectly but clearly insulted my wife, made unspoken judgements about our relationship to each other and actually said 'What are YOU doing here?' At my follow up appointment post surgery, Dr. Cranwell didn't allow me to fully voice my concerns, and spoke in a condescending and patronizing manner to me, even talking over me at one point. Very good surgeon, not a very good doctor. Not recommended.
