Not what I needed….
Unfortunately Dr. Hattoum did not live up to my expectations. Before he asked me any questions about symptoms or anything else, he came in and said in 3 years he would look at me again and then see where we are in my Bradycardia and sick sinus syndrome. He then informed me another physician there wanted to do a heart cath. Unfortunately this is where is got crazy. The heart cath doctor wasn’t in the room, just Dr. Hattoum and his assistant. Supposedly his assistant left the room and asked Dr. Stiff if I really needed a heart cath. She came back and the heart cath doctor said yes. I did not feel comfortable talking to a heart doctor that didn’t know anything about the heart cath, and didnt want to see me for 3 years. I cannot ask questions of a doctor that doesn’t come into the room and speak with me. I would also need a ride and asked if they could help and that became a total fiasco. Dr. Hattoum said they would help, that never transformed and I found another heart doctor.

Individual Focus
After being referred to Dr. Hattoum by Dr Reinig to perform my heart ablation, I met with him to talk about my cleithrophobia issue and how we could manage it on the day of so I could follow through. I was met with listening ears, compassion, understanding and honestly just a down to earth cardiologist who took more than enough time to explain everything that would happen on the day of and how we would manage it and most importantly if I couldn't follow through, we wouldn't and would continue trying additional medications (that I already felt likely wouldnt work because I had been on several during the course of two years). It was truly a "me centered focus". Arriving at Fairfield Medical, from the moment I walked in, pre op, op and post op, I was so incredibly cared for. For me not to feel anxious is virtually impossible, and I didn't (not abnormally anyway!). I will forever be appreciative and grateful for the extra time and reassurances they gave me. A+++
