Avoid this person at all costs
I had a disappointing & distressing experience with him. I sought care for a rare case of acupuncture-induced pneumothorax. He made it clear that he had not encountered this condition before in his practice. Rather than approaching the situation with curiosity and empathy, he suggested that I might be exaggerating my level of pain, which felt dismissive and unprofessional. Throughout the interaction, he exhibited behavior that came across as rude, pretentious, and dismissive. His tone conveyed a sense of superiority, as though he considered himself the ultimate authority on treatment decisions, without regard for my lived experience or concerns. When I brought up the possibility of racial bias impacting his judgment—an important and valid concern as a person of color—he became visibly upset and abruptly left the room. My overall experience left me feeling dehumanized and unheard. A Dr should prioritize compassion, active listening, and humility when treating patients, and he DOES NOT!
