I was a healthy patient of Dr. Freed's. I usually would be seen by her NP instead of her when I had an appointment with her. I went in with a huge bullseye on my arm and exhibited classic Lyme disease symptoms. They diagnosed me with depression!!! All I would have needed was a round of antibiotics. Instead I spent over three years with health struggles and paid a holistic doctor out of pocket (over $25,000) to be treated. I even wrote and hand delivered a letter to her explaining I had paid $10,000 out of pocket for blood tests which showed I had Bartonella (one of the most serious types of Lyme disease) and begged her to allow me to go to MGH's Lyme center for help (you cannot get in without a doctor referral). She never responded to my letters or calls. Shame on South Shore Medical Center for allowing her to practice medicine there. She is a hinderance, not a help to your medical needs.

Zero empathy
Unfortunately, I could not select zero stars. Why does she even bother seeing patients. She seems more concerned about getting sued and saving the healthcare system money than treating the patient. The ideal characteristics of hospital administrator. I guess she follows a different version of the Hippocratic oath. There’s a difference between do no harm and do nothing. Maybe she skipped medical school when empathy was discussed.

Would do 0 stars if possible were there e.
I've seen her 2 times the first time was for me&my daughter. Second time today ,just me. Both times for strep ( toddler in school, yah know) I'm extremely high risk, have lung disease and a plethora of other complications. Getting myself and 2 toddlers alone in and out of the doctor's is NOT an easy feat for me. She entered the room and VERY sternly said ' well you were 10 minutes late so ...'. But I was not late I stood in line for check in and in the waiting room to be seen. I digress . She adamantly did not want to strep test me or my children even if I was positive ' it's not necessary' I continued to advocate for myself& children which she rebutted back & you could tell she did not like that I questioned her, I intern had to go back 3 separate times because of HER refusal of swabbing us! We were ALL positive for strep!! peds dept. was horrified! Went again today SAME exchange. She's rude, no bedside manner, by the book, she lacks empathy& has 0 respect for her patients.

Excellent Doctor.
I switched to SSMC in 2018 from Harbor Medical after my previous PCP conducted my physical with another patients chart. Going from that to Dr Freed was night and day. I have never had a doctor who listens and genuinely cares about what I have to say. I always recommend Dr Freed to anyone looking for a new doctor. Reading reviews left by others I can say every appointment I have had with Dr Freed has been opposite of the experiences others have written about. She listens, cares and her bedside manner in my experience is nothing like described below.

See somebody else!!
If I could leave a big fat ZERO I would. I am so happy to be out of there! I agree with everyone’s review on her. She is rude, disrespectful, dismissive, arrogant and does’t have an ounce of empathy or concern for her patients. When I first started seeing her 8-10 years ago she was great, now she could care less why you are there. Appointment after appointment I would cancel so I wouldn’t have to see her. Her medical assistants seem to be taking on her NO bed side manner as well. The NP is extremely nice, so if you do have to go into her office see Sarah! Be your own advocate for everything, because she will not assist in anyway.

Great Doctor
I have seen Dr Freed for over 8 years and couldn’t ask for a better doctor. She listened to me when other doctors didn’t and most likely saved my life. She is always professional and fully explains everything. She offers options for treatment and wants your input. I’m surprised by the negative reviews here as many people on out community Facebook page recommend her as well.

Delicate flower mentality- inexperienced
How she practices medicine is by the book, addresses symptoms, disregards patient requests, conversation and input and patient history. I would opt to see another doctor given the choice. In this instance it was a same day urgent visit. Somewhat helpful, beyond this. Move on

I switched to Dr. Freed two years ago after a move. My first visit with her I found her unfriendly and 'short' with her responses but chalked it up to her having a bad day. Given how hard it is to find a primary doctor I stuck with her and that was a mistake. For my next yearly physical she was rude and condescending. I tried to discuss some menopause concerns with her and she could not be bothered. She truly acts like she does not care about her patients and has no interest in what they are saying. I will not be going back.

I choose her as my primary care because for convenience purposes and my old primary care (which I LOVED) was in town and it was getting hard to go in town! What a mistake she was! She has horrible bedside manners and SO condescending! First time I saw her she said she can’t complete my exam because I was 10 minutes late! Who says that?!?! The second time I saw her she had me wait for her 15 minutes! I gave her the benefit of the doubt that maybe she had a bad day and decided to still see her. I went in for a concern and she was still rude as ever! I decided that was it and switched! Thankfully I’m pretty healthy so my health was not in jeopardy but if I wasn’t God help me with her as a primary care! All she did was type away and ask condescending questions - looked like her goal was to make you feel stupid! Don’t pick her!!!!

Dr. Freed is rude, uncaring & shouldn’t be a Doctor. She has messed around with medications I have taken for 10 years & when I explained one of the medications, which was now given to me in liquid form rather than the usual pill form, was difficult to figure out dosing wise. She then told me I was in breech of contract & she was going to rapidly take me off the medication, which I need for anxiety & panic attacks. She then told me to go to inpatient detox which is absolutely uncalled for. This is the worst doctor I have ever encountered.

I am quite surprised to see the bad reviews for Dr. Freed. I have always have a wonderful experience with her and feel that she is extremely prompt and attentive to my needs. I feel genuinely cared for by her as a patient and cannot say enough about her to show my appreciation for being such a great physician. Her team is excellent and I never have any trouble reaching them with any questions or concerns.

I accompanied my client to an appointment with Dr Freed. She was both rude to my client and myself. She spoke down to and at my client and treated her as though she were not a person I won’t type how she really treated her. She was confrontational and made it quite clear my client was unwanted and she did not even examine her. She is most suited for a cadaver! Worst MD I have ever ran across!.

I am not commenting on facility. I have to say my experience was as horrific as the persons experience except with allegations, lack of exam, lack of treatment, horrific degrading woman I hope she is removed from medicine and my dogs have a better MD than her. Literally she went out of her way to cause pain, suffering, and intentionally prevented or continued to play around with not getting prescriptions getting placed. She put my health in jeopardy! I have been sitting on this review !

NOT IN A MILLION YEARS-SHE WAS RUDE,ABRUPT,DISRESPECTFUL TO MY ELDERLY MOTHER. ENTERED THE EXAM ROOM, INTRODUCED HERSELF AND THEN ASKED MY MOTHER WHY SHE WAS THERE. MY MOTHER'S RESPONSE WAS, I THINK I'M HAVING AN ALLERGIC REACTION(SHE HAD RED PATCHES ON HER FACE AND HER EYELID WAS SWOLLEN). DR FREED'S RESPONSE WAS "I DIDN'T ASK FOR A DIAGNOSIS, I ASKED WHY YOU ARE HERE." SERIOUSLY HOW RUDE. THE ENTIRE INTERACTION WITH SO CALLED PHYSICIAN WAS DISRESPECTFUL.
