Dr. Alison Hench, DO

I had an extremely disappointing experience and was truly amazed by how passive aggressive and callous Dr. Hench was. She dismissed concerns so effortlessly and didn't listen to a single word I said. If you're looking for a doctor who doesn’t take the time to listen, doesn’t bother explaining things, and makes you feel like an inconvenience, Dr. Hench is your person. The snide remarks, and being talked down to were truly a one-of-a-kind experience! It's clear that Dr. Hench has no interest in actually helping people or treating them with any sort of empathy. I won’t be returning and would not recommend her to anyone.

Dr. Hench has been my PCP since 2018. During my annual check-up in 2019, I told her I felt like a ball in my uterus but she told me it was just an 'abscess' and I would be fine with exercise. In 2022, I told her the 'abscess' was larger and now accompanied heavier with abundant non-stop periods so I urged her to check it. She finally agreed. I had my ultrasound and saw an OBGYN who found out I had huge fibroids in my uterus and needed surgery. I had a treatment to make them smaller but didn't work and caused me migraines. I had my uterus removed (Total Hysterectomy) and I went into full menopause at 50 which caused me other hormonal issues. I asked to refer me to an endocrinologist (hormone specialist) but Dr. Hench, who is still my primary care doctor, told me I don't need one, so she refused. When I see her in person, she hurries me up telling me she has only 15 minutes per patient. She is a good doctor, but needs to listen to her patients. Another OBGYN told me to see an Endocrino..

I work in healthcare and contrary to advice I give patients, I haven’t had a regular doctor in over a decade. Dr. Hench is my new primary care doctor and I have had 2 appointments with her. I found her to be open, nonjudgemental, extremely supportive, compassionate, and competent. The visits were efficient but I also felt heard and like all of my concerns—of which I had many—were thoroughly addressed. I arrived to the visits 10 minutes early and was called back by the nurse at the exact time my appointment was scheduled. I also appreciate the onsite pharmacy and lab which saved me driving time and streamlined my care. I would absolutely recommend Dr. Hench to family, friends, or anyone needing a new primary care doctor.
