Dr. Allison Alcalay, MD

While Dr. Alcalay may be running behind schedule, my experience is that it’s because she cares deeply for her patients and sometimes visits run long. She listens well and is very knowledgeable. If you are in a hurry, schedule an early appointment or first after lunch.

This lady stinks. Everything everyone says about her is true. I wanted a doctor not an accountant.

I had a video appointment with Dr. Allison Alcalay scheduled for last week and after waiting more than 40 minutes for her to show up, I had to leave the call. After speaking with her support person and reviewing exactly what the appointment was for, the call was rescheduled for today. This morning, the doctor was rushed, condescending, impolite, inaccurate regarding my medical history (and combative when I tried to correct her), and unprofessional, and she rambled about irrelevant issues -- when I tried to redirect the conversation in the interest of time, she shushed me. She then told me she could not address my concerns unless I came to the office in person. The doctor's tone was insulting and the appointment was a complete waste of time.

Did NOT show any compassion. Appointment was rushed. She interrupted, didn't listen. Didn't have answers to anything just kept saying "I don't know." Didn't talk to my mom talked at her!

Dr. Alcalay does not care about her patients. Neglects patients urgency.

She was on call and I needed to update her on an urgent health issue. She was difficult to reach, irritable and not open to the information. Overall I felt insulted and brushed aside. Perhaps this was an outlier, but I would not recommend this doctor.

I had chronic diarrhea. I went to dr. Alkalay and she told me I would have to live with it. I left Alkali and went to another doctor and he cured me in 5 days with an anti-fungal. I suggest that she doesn't really know very much about symptoms and she's not very compassionate. Good luck getting her to listen.

She tried to play Psychiatrist and lost! She took all of 5 minutes with me and was a giant know it all. Do not recommend her whatsoever!

Communication is difficult, Dr. Alcalay is very concrete and does not make light of anything. She is very through but can impress as condescending. She wants to verify everything, in doing so, she creates a lack of trust between herself and her patient. She extremely bright, and very pleasant. Exercise caution in what you say, be specific, impeccable with your words, and as concrete as possible.

I have always been happy with Dr. Alcalay. She doesn't rush you, is organized involves you in all decisions. When I have to wait, I always remember how long over she takes with me when I am in with her. When I moved 35 miles away I continued to see her. She is the BEST
