Rude, dismissive, and defensive
At the one month follow-up is when I knew I could not continue as a patient. I went in, and when Dr. Shah asked how things were going, I tried to tell the truth: the APAP machine had helped some, but I still had some persistent daytime drowsiness that was not clearing up. Rather than tell me to keep trying the machine for a couple more months or try a different mask or pressure (you know, the things sleep doctors are supposed to do), she proceeded to blame my daytime fatigue on lack of exercise (I was fat at the time). If Dr. Shah had bothered to ask me questions rather than jumping to conclusions, she would have found out I'd just gotten back from a trip to Tijuana and San Diego, where I walked an average of ten miles a day, and that drowsiness has never been a symptom of depression or weight gain for me. Instead, she choose to try to blame my continued daytime drowsiness on me, seeming defensive of the machine and her initial diagnosis.

Don’t waste your time.
If you have been in an accident, don’t waste your time. This doctor doesn’t care about patients, just the office rules and taking your money. Spoiler alert, she’s the owner, so it’s her rule. She just doesn’t want to make an exception. I get the hassles of dealing with insurance and attorneys (I work in insurance claims). But I specifically told her there are no attorneys. There is no litigation. There is no claim. All of that was resolved 2 years ago. Still, refused to see my daughter. Mind you. We have been waiting over a month for this appointment (didn’t bother to mention their policy when we made the appointment.). My daughter spent over an hour doing the new patient paperwork. I took the day off of work for this appointment. We got to the office, and waited over an hour for the doctor to come in. She finally did, and let my daughter get about 2 sentences in to why she was there, and the doctor says, “I’m sorry, it’s our policy not to treat people who have been in accident

I thought I was seeing Dr. Kirin Shah but his wife saw me instead. She carelessly looked at my MRI desk and complained about not knowing how to use her OWN computer screen to look at the mri. Wow. So she told me that she just didn’t know what was actually on my brain and tears began to fill my eye. This was the whole reason why I made the appointment because when I paid for the mri out of pocket ($575) it found something on my brain. I told her that I have been suffering from vertigo like symptoms for the past year and a half. She pretty much told me that I will be dizzy for the rest of my life and I need to avoid any situations and medications that make me dizzy. She called in a medication for me that said that it might help or it might not. And good luck to me. I went to go pick up the medication and right on the bottle it says causes dizziness. What a waste of time and money. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

The visit was more of talk session. I made her aware of the battle of sleep apnea for near 25 years or more, along with over night tests. She made one appointment after the other. As the bill piled up, she demanded me to pay her for sleep study tests all in two or three large payments with prepd card payments. I advised her that I can't afford to pay her that way as a single parent. She then refused to give me the CPAP machine and prescription. Still, today, I don't have CPAP machine.

I have MS and find Dr. Shahs demeaner perfect for me. She is patient and kind. She listens without interruption and strives to find the best course of action of treatment that will best benefit me. She has been an advocate with my less than tolerable insurance company to find the best treatment towards this horrible disease and I appreciate all her efforts! This disease has been scary, but Dr. Shah has helped me get through the hurdles for a more productive life. I'm thankful for her.

Worst experience ever. Do NOT go to this doctor. I'm so appalled at the way she treated my son and daughter-in-law that I'm writing a letter to the medical board.

I saw this Dr today, I do not agree with any of the positive posts. She does not listen to you at all. Only what is convient to her. Her bed side manner is AWEFUL! Only wants to push pills not really find out what is the underlying or cause of your problem. She had the nerve to say its in my head and i have to see a shrink bc she never heard of a medical condition that i am suffering and diagnosed with and treated for more than 20 years. Bc she is a DR. AND KNOW EVERTHING. BEWARE UF YOU SEE THI

I am pleased to leave a positive survey for Dr Alpa Shah. I took my uncle to see her last month as he was having weakness and was recommended by ER doctor to see a neurologist. I made an appointment request on her website and received a call from her staff next day. I was impressed by her bedside manners. My uncle got a scan done next day. The following day we saw Dr Shah and she explained the problem and the treatment in detail. My uncle is getting better now.

Last week my wife and I went to meet Dr Alpa Shah. Her receptionist was kind and helpful. I saw Dr Shah after 5-10 mins of wait. In that time, her assistant took my blood pressure and downloaded my CPAP card which I needed for my work. Dr Shah was caring and knowledgable.

I would really question, the excellent reviews, or comments made on the behalf of Dr. Alpa Shah! My complete visit with her, was a total disgrace, tense, scary, unprofessional, disastrous, reckless, and wasteful visit! She was only interested in the following! Clearing her name, reputation, colleagues, hospital privileges, and Definitely more certainly far more interested in covering her tracks! Mind you viewers my health overall, is in danger, out of control, and hangs in the ballot! WOW!!!!
