Dr. Alphaeus Wise, MD

I've been a patient of Dr. Wise for over 10 years. The first several, only when ill – or for physicals/immunizations. I was very impressed with his knowledge, efficiency, and bedside manner. Many years prior, I was diagnosed with severe arthritic conditions (bone spurs) in my spine and was receiving care from one of the Bay Area’s several pain clinics. By that point, surgery, physical therapy, neurobehavioral feedback, etc. had been tried and the only thing the clinics were providing were pain medication prescriptions – usually with office wait times of 30 min to 2 hours. These clinics also required over-priced drug tests to cover their rear. When these fees exceeded $1,000/month, I needed to make a switch. Fortunately, Dr. Wise knew of my history and agreed to take over my pain management. My wife and I were discussing the switch to him a few months ago, and determined that he’s not only made a huge difference in my life during that one day/month, but EVERYDAY. He's simply the best!

Highly unprofessional staff which makes it hard to get refills or orders Doctor was helpful but not thorough in explanations.

I've been a patient of Dr. Wise for longer than I can remember. He is personable, friendly, and most importantly, he will listen to you not just tell you to take this med, stop eating that, etc. He works with you to find the life style that works with you and your situation. Unfortunately I am retiring out of state in about a year and will have to get a new Dr. . . . I hope that I can find another like him (not likely)

He is kind, listens well, and takes great care of his patients.

Dr. Wise is an exceptionally patient and kind doctor for all ages. We never have problems getting appointments, the office is modern and clean, the staff is friendly and helpful. The kids love Dr. Wise and I'm always impressed with how much time he takes to truly listen. We have never felt rushed. Highly recommend!

Dr. Wise is very patient. He takes whatever time is necessary to answer all my questions. It's easy to get an appointment and generally not a long wait.

Best doctor I've ever seen. Totally professional, compassionate and kind. In general, I am a tough critic but I can't find one thing to complain about with Dr. Wise. ;) Office staff is great, too.

Dr. Wise clearly cares about his patients. He is phenomenally focused, a great listener, and a very intelligent and proactive doctor. He is consistently cheerful and makes me feel empowered in my daily health decisions. I have also found everyone in his office highly professional and helpful. I STRONGLY recommend Dr. Wise.

Great doctor who has amazing bedside manner. After going through multiple doctors I finally found one that cares about his patients and offers a personalized experience.

Dr. Wise is not only very personable with an excellent bedside manner, he is also extremely bright with understanding family medicine.

Dr. Wise is an exceptional doctor. While he is not my primary care physician (technically I don't even have one although I am a Kaiser member) I have been seeing Dr. Wise for the better part of a decade, actually a fair more than a decade at this time. He is a very understanding and awesome guy. I actually go to see him once every month or two as per the medication I take requires that. I also know about 4 other patients (my friends) who also have had nothing bad to say. Great Doc
