Don't go to this doctor if your life depends on it. My PAS went up and Dr. Ilkay said don't worry about it, it's normal at my age. I questioned him several times over 2 years as my numbers rose and got the same response each time. I finally went to another doctor and found out I have prostate has cancer and now it's "high risk." I could had treatment two years ago but I listened and trusted Dr. Ilkay. I would have died from it if I had stayed with him.

My mother has used Dr. Ilkay for about 20 years. She is 96 and has frequent UTIs with no symptoms The doctor is well aware of her history. On her last visit in June the doctor told her she had a small amount of bacteria in her urine. He asked her how she felt and she said ok. So he let her decide and did not give her an antibiotic. Consequently she developed a full blown UTI within 2 weeks and collapsed in her home and could not get up. She used her life alert and summoned help. When I arrived she had refused to go the hospital. Since she said she fell I said she had to be checked and she felt warm. At the ER she had a fever of 102. I told the PA she had a history of UTI and was left untreated by Dr. Ilkay on her last visit. Sure enough she had a UTI and spent 4 days in the hospital and then had to go to rehab because the infection weakened her legs. Thank you Dr. Ilkay!

Initial visit took almost 1 hour to get in a room but service was immediate from that point on. The doctor gave me several options and a video to watch. First option was medication samples which corrected a long standing issue overnight. Having had a triple bypass his surgical options are Stony brook or Winthrop. Very easy to talk to and he will be my urologist.

I recently had surgery. I called Dr. Ilkay at 6pm to tell him I was in alot of pain. He called me back in 3 minutes. He told me to come into his office at 9am the next day, which was fine. He called me back 5 minutes later and said that he was uncomfortable making me wait until the morning and wanted me to come in that night; mind you, his office was already closed AND I live an hour away. He said he would wait. Dr. Ilkay helped my greatly with my issue and I left his office with great relief!
