In an assisted living facility, my mother could eat only a few bites of food before having terrible stomach pain. This went on for days. Dr. Miranda only took a stool sample, never returning with the results. Five days later, my mother needed life-saving emergency surgery for a potentially fatal stomach condition. In a rehab facility a few weeks later, my mother threw up every time she ate for three days straight. The attending doctor--Dr. Miranda--said, "just try to get her to eat," and left.
