Dr Huncken is my gp and is one of only two GPs I've had who actually wants input from all my specialists. She sees the whole picture and has a great sense of humor. I am chronically ill and I used 'realistic' in the title because she doesn't make false promises, lets my complain a healthy amount, and is always suggesting new things to deal with symptoms. She asks how are you with a smile and I don't feel like I have to say good. She means it, it's not just a pleasantry. She is thorough, so patient, and truly gives a damn. She remains level headed and calm no matter what I say; there is an attitude of 'we'll figure this out together,' and it is reassuring even though it is never mistaken for 'here's a cure for all your chronic conditions even though no cure exists.' I can ask her anything, no question ever feels stupid.
