Dr. Amanda Draper, MD

My children have been patients at the Children’s Clinic for 17 years. I have visited almost all of the present doctors. We were, admittedly, as young parents with young children drawn to the more FUN doctor with engaging bedside manners.Dr. Draper has since grown to become our favorite and preferred doctor. She is excellent with teenagers, respectful of parents, NEVER condescending when parents have questions or concerns, she is direct in her approach, honest, and thorough with her diagnoses. To be clear, her bedside manner IS good, but I have learned over the years not to be dazzled (in any area of medical practice) by the friendliest or most popular of available doctors. All of my children appreciate Dr. Draper and prefer to see her…even they trust that she wants what’s best for them, while respecting her our own questions or concerns. We have never been made to feel stupid for visiting or asking questions about medicines or treatments.

My wife and I went through a few doctors at the Children’s Clinic Ltd. when we had our first son. When we had to schedule with Dr. Draper she was fantastic! She is great with the kids and most importantly she is just incredibly knowledgeable and really put my wife and I at ease. We haven’t scheduled with another Dr. since. We currently are pregnant with our second son living an hour away in Richmond but still visit for our Dr. appointments and she will be our new baby’s pediatrician too!

We loved Dr. Draper! She was our first pediatrician and definitely put my wife & me at ease. She's a proud mom herself and was always willing to offer advice when asked. Scheduling with her was easy and she definitely made us feel like we had 100% of her attention when she was in the room.

Don't waste your time. It will be a virus with her every time. No bedside manner and doesn't listen.
