I’m a long term patient of Dr. Zubek and was generally happy with her care in my annual dermatological visits, until the last one. She noted I had a bit of persistent acne on my scalp and prescribed a topical antibiotic, clindamycin, to clear it up. About ten days into the treatment, I started having gas pains, GI upset and eventually diarrhea. These symptoms were similar to a bacterial infection I had about 18 months earlier, Clostridium difficile, a monster of infection that is resistant to all but one antibiotic. So I called my PCP and sure enough lab work was positive for this C. diff. bacteria. This was in my medical history and if Dr. Zubek had told me there was the slightest chance I would develop this infection from the clindamycin, there is no way I would have taken it especially for a little acne. I’ve now had diarrhea for over 3 months and will need surgery since 6 weeks of antibiotics haven’t worked. This condition can be life threatening. Take/read better histories

State of the art Doc
Dr. Zubek is state of the art regarding diagnosis and treatment. She resolved a toe nail issue with new approaches and was very gentle. I trust her diagnosis and feel she is very thorough!

Went for a second opinion. Waied for 1.5 hr in waiting room for my scheduled appointment. She spent 20 minutes with me in the room and I ended up with bill of $1,162.00. No treatment plan, just had me to follow up in 3 months. She will never see me again.

Rude . Should take notes from Dr Bunick in her office on how to be professional and passionate about her profession . Walked in when I was very upset about an issue I had - cut me off after hearing one word ( literally spoke for 5 seconds ) told the nurse to give me medicine and walked out . Have never been treated so poorly . I never had the medication filled and left there feeling like I wasted my time .

I have been with dr zubek since the first day that she started at Yale determatology. She litterly saved my life by discovering that I had merkel cell carcinoma cancer and took immediate action to have the tumor removed at Yale. A success for me with early detection. I am a vietnam vet with exposure to agent orange and fortunate to have made it so far to the age of 79

Does not steer away from a challenge. Uses her intelligence and investigative problem solving skills to obtain the best outcome for her patient. Knowing someone is in your corner always lightens the load and fears that come with unknown outcomes.

Was only seen for 5 minutes. I explained something was wrong with my scalp and I was prescribed medicine without even getting my scalp looked at other than a quick glance of my hairline.
