Dr. Amber Mansoor, MD

My first appointment with Dr. Mansoor was like a breath of fresh air. She was fresh out of med school and she cared SO MUCH about her patients. That was a few years ago. Now, something feels different. While Dr. Mansoor is still a 'S tier' psychiatrist for SA, that ranking has more to do with SA being a bad city for mental healthcare. I'm noticing Dr. Mansoor starting to phone it in. That personal touch she had is gone. She doesn't seem to care about all the complaints people make about her toxic office manager Connie. In a more cosmopolitan city, Dr. Mansoor would be a 'B tier' psychiatrist. But since this is SA, and many of the psychiatrists here have a toxic bedside manner, Dr. Mansoor is still the number 1 choice if you want to see a psychiatrist. Because of this, she gets 3-stars. But PLEASE lower your expectations if you DO choose to see her.

She forgets that patients are her customer. She does everything to upset you - don't listen, don't respect your concerns, show no empathy, you don't feel like you are heard. That leaves you questioning her decisions and have tough time building trust. I have been taking my son to her to see a very complicated disorder. We are anyways emotionally going through a roller coaster ride. And seeing her never puts us at ease. We saw her out of no choice, as pediatric psychiatrist are hard to get. Worst health care I ever met. Hence you can get her appointment fairly quickly, because people don't want to see her again.

Very disturbing , very emotional, does not remember discussions and advice from previous sessions.

I wouldn't even give one star but I had to in order to submit my review. I wasn't going to post a review but I'm sure this psychiatrist will do this to another kid like she did mine and that is my biggest fear. I was confused and scared when she dropped us just like that and no explanation. As you all know is hard to find a psychiatrist right away, so at least you have knowledge that this really happened to a kid and the option now if you want to risk your child's mental health like she did mine. Our previous psychiatrist was great, then my kid was 9, any suggestions i had ( since I'm the parent and I live with my kid) the psychiatrist would listened to me and we worked together to reach the goal for my kids mental health. I suggested with the previous psychiatrist that we started a low dose, (ive read of side effects of depression medications). We went up on the medication and at some point i sugested we started a more organic approach once she seemed better then eventually off the
