Dr. Ameek Mundi, MD

In 3 days as an attending physician, he misdiagnosed me as having bipolar disorder. Bipolar is seen in about 10% of population, but it is massively over diagnosed by Dr like Mundi. He failed to take a full case history, and thereby failed to understand me.

I saw Dr. Mundi for over a year and stopped for a while because I was feeling good about where I was. I recently reached out to him and he claimed to not remember who I was and to have lost all his files in a move, then said he didn't want anything to do with my case until I had gone through various programs which were completely unrelated to the kind of help I was seeking. I just needed to speak with a doctor I had a relationship with and thought I could trust. Instead I ended up feeling completely abandoned and hopeless and alone, having to start from scratch and find a new therapist. It seems like there should be a better way to handle former patients, perhaps referring them to another trusted colleague. To not remember anything about someone you treated for over a recent year also speaks volumes as to how this doctor views his patients.
