Dr. Cook along with her nurse, Hillary, have always come off cold and unengaged. I switched due to the lack of interpersonal skills (verbal and nonverbal) along with the looming feeling of being an inconvenience the entire visit. Going to the doctor should be seen as a safe place. A place to feel heard, respected, and dignified. If you're searching for more than bare minimum bedside manner, sadly, Dr. Cook and her care team are not for you.

Not Thorough
I went in to see Dr. Cook because my foot had been hurting and my ears had been ringing for more than two years. She was dismissive of my tinnitus (didn't explain anything at all) and only gave a cursory exam of my foot. I changed practitioners.

Poor Bedside Manner, not Thorough
My dad and I both had Amy for a doctor (I only had her once, my dad several times). I went in for throat irritation (not cold related). She didn't even touch me; she just prescribed me a reflux med and sent me on my way. This did not fix what I was dealing with I had to follow up with my normal primary care physician (who had been out of town). My dad, a type-2 diabetic in renal failure, was never once asked by Amy to remove his shoes. Her poor communication and lack of thorough examination was extremely disappointing. We requested a new primary care doctor.

I saw Dr Cook today for annual visit. She is very caring and thorough. She explained various health issues and was a good listener. I was very pleased with her attention to my care.

I would not recommend her. I was seen by her for maybe a minute. Did not explain anything and walked out. Waste of time.
