Dr. Amy Stark, MD

Dr Stark is the best Doctor I have met in a very long time! It shows that she loves her job and is fully vested in my care; works very hard for positive outcomes each time I see her. That is hard to come by these days. She is so patient with me, as each visit may require a different approach, which she applies each time. She got into medicine for all the right reasons! My office wait times are always minimal and her office staff if friendly and will work with you. Kindness is prevelant in Dr Starks practice; Amarillo and myself are truly blessed by her professionalism and empathy.

Dr. Amy Stark is hands down the best psychiatrist I’ve ever had! (For the record, she’s the 8th one I’ve seen). She’s kind and compassionate with her patients, and her pharmacology knowledge is incredible. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a psychiatrist!

Dr Stark is extremely knowledgeable in her field. She is thorough & kind in every visit. I live in New Mexico and drive 2 hours just so I can see her. That says something.

Dr. Stark listens; she processes what I say before making a decision to improve outcomes. I feel that she treats the individual, not just the diagnosis. She’s willing to work with me until the best possible treatment is reached. Wouldn’t go to anyone else!!!

Her office is very easy to work with to set up appointments, although she does have a waiting list like other psychiatrists.

I have been seeing Dr. Stark for several years. She is compassionate, thorough and professional. She has always addressed and concerns or questions I have had and I feel she is fully vested in my care.

When I see the cellphone text asking me to confirm my bi-monthly appointment with Dr. Stark, I look forward to it as my one and only opportunity to fully reveal myself at length, without interruption, to the most attentive person I now encounter in my life. I've seen many psychiatrists in my lifetime--from age 16 to present, but none so compassionate and understanding. She is so much more than a "psycho-pharmacologist," engaging in a mere "med check." She has perfected the high art of listening. Now 71 years old, I've been hearing-impaired since adolescence, but the psychological "fallout" from this disability, particularly for one engaged since high school in the hearing-intensive calling of newspaper journalism, was never once taken into account with my diagnosis--bi-polar illness. Dr. Stark is very accommodating to my hearing impairment by, for instance, writing her questions and responses if I cannot hear her. What a blessed RELIEF!

Ive been with her since August 2020 and have yet to see her in person. I was supposed to finally see her in person today 5/3/21 after my appointment had been changed 2 different times already. I arrived 10 minutes late because I accidentally went to the wrong building but I had called before hand and let them know. When I arrived I was immediately told I had to reschedule. After telling them I’m about to be out of town until August they still wouldn’t let me have my appointment. I woll be finding a new psychiatrist, zero needs have been met. Not to mention the staff was rude.

Husband went to her for anxiety and depression meds. He never saw her, only the PA. Wouldn't you think the doctor would want to see their patient at least once? When he inquired about seeing Dr. Stark the PA made him feel guilty, so he didn't pursue it. He ended up on more than 7 anti-depressant cocktails in a year and a half and finally got so fed up with it he stopped taking everything which was a disaster.
