Dismissive, Disdainful, and Unconcerned.
Let me preface this review by noting that I have waited five weeks to write it. I wanted time to process my experience and not act in haste. From the beginning, Dr. Guillaume was abrupt and unresponsive. He heard nothing my wife and I were trying to tell him and was not the least interested in asking any questions about what an underlying condition might be. The entire “examination” (if one could call it that) lasted less than seven minutes. He treated us as an inconvenience, his attitude was completely dismissive, and his bearing was one of utter disdain and disregard as if we were not intelligent enough to warrant his time. And, I might add, that between us we have five college degrees, and I am a college professor. I have never encountered a physician as rude, abrupt, or unconcerned about my welfare as Dr. Guillaume. My time and money were totally wasted. I might as well have consulted a curandero.

Let me preface this review by noting that I have waited five weeks to write it. I wanted to have time to process my experience and not act in haste. I have been experiencing dizziness for over a year, and the most convenient term I have used to describe it to others has been “vertigo.” Everyone seemed to understand how I was feeling when I used the word so it was our go-to explanation. I saw another ENT specialist and after testing he diagnosed an imbalance in the crystals in my ear and prescribed a series of physical exercises to correct the condition. These did not prove satisfactory, so I sought out another opinion. This led me to a referral to Dr. Andamo Guillaume. The moment I used the word “vertigo” Dr. Guillaume waved his hand and verbally dismissed what I was trying to explain to him. He stated that my condition was either imbalanced crystals or that I had forgotten how to walk. And since I was using a wheelchair, it had to be the latter. I tried to explain that I was only using a wheelchair because I feared becoming disorientated and falling in public and that I did not use it around the house, but he ignored this. When my wife also tried to explain he also ignored her. He told me that I needed physical therapy to relearn how to walk, and with that, we were shown the door. He heard nothing we were trying to tell him and was not the least interested in asking any questions about what an underlying condition might be. The entire “examination” (if one could call it that) lasted less than seven minutes. He treated us as an inconvenience, his attitude was completely dismissive, and his bearing was one of utter disdain and disregard as if we were not intelligent enough to warrant his time. Dr. Guillaume perform septoplasty and turbinate reduction. He offered no follow-ups after surgery. All the research that I've done shows there should be follow-ups for as long as 6 months. His bedside manner leaves a lot to be desired.

My daughter had a broken nose. Dr. Guillaume saw her Tuesday and reset the bones the following day. She saw two ENT specialist and choosing Dr. Guillaume was an easy decision. He explained it was best to let the bone heal and then do a septoplasty after the swelling had gone down and was very clear explaining why. I highly recommend this doctor.

My husband made an appointment because he was having dizzy spells his back specialist recommended the he see an ear, nose and throat Dr to have is hearing checked. The appointment was made with Dr.Guillaume and my husband complained that the Dr was very rude to him. The office said for my husband to wait for a call from University hospital to schedule a hearing test. I told my husband go to another Dr. so he did and the hearing test was done in their office. Poor service with Dr. Guillaume.
