Dr. Swenson was nice in person and later on the phone. However, I had the unfortunate experience of being a class study without my permission. I do understand my condition was rare, but did not enjoy students in the room during the exam. I got a split diagnosis and all of my questions to this day remain unanswered. With the split diagnosis that she arrived at, there is no cure for either one. With that diagnosis coupled with the experience of the exam process, I have never been to another doctor since. I do certainly appreciate her telling me neurologist understand very little about the brain and how it functions. This keeps me standing still without a need to seek further care, but that reality can be hard to face at times. So I can certainly appreciate her honesty in that regard. Either way, there is no cure, that is all I can keep telling myself now.

Dr. Swenson is a very wonderful, caring doctor who is generally considerate of her patients' entire lifestyle and how it is affected by neuropathy. She takes great care to try to determine the cause of neuropathy. Her exams are extremely thorough. Her bedside manner is exemplary and her true care for her patients is the very first impression you get from meeting with her.

My husband was already diagnosed with PLS at a hospital in another state, but the drive was taxing on him. Dr. Swenson examined him for 10 minutes and told him she didn't see ANYTHING wrong with him! Then my husband saw her again about a month and a half later--not by his choice--she was the one they had him see. She told him to get counseling!!! I've never seen my husband so pissed off in all his life!! HE NOW HAS ALS!!!! She is a clueless idiot.
