Dr. Andrea Tackett, MD

Dr. Tackett, really listened and remembered what I shared with her. Because of that, she reconsidered a treatment given to me by another doctor, and scheduled me for a stint procedure right away and may have saved my life. Trust between doctor and patient is very important and that trust forms when your doctor listens and gives it to you straight. Besides that, she's compassionate and has a great sense of humor!

I've had heart problems for over 20 years. After one appt. with Dr. Tackett, I now feel like I know what the problems are, and I have tools for treating and monitoring them. Not only is Dr. Tackett exceptionally skilled in her field, her demeanor is kind and comforting. She was super-helpful AND she was nice, and that really made my day.

Initial appt went well, she was very attentive to our concerns as my wife has a Stent from about 2 years ago. Will let you know how the rest of our journey goes.

My husband was referred to Dr. Tackett with a potentially serious heart condition. "Shadow on his L-ventricle". This was 2/23/2023. Her medical opinion was to recommend a 'stress test' and scheduled it for APRIL. Yes, my husband is over 70 yrs old, but this does not mean that he does not deserve care. His life matters. Totally unacceptable!!!

My mother was referred to Dr. Tackett after going to French Hospital with heart attack symptoms , at the age of 89. French Hospital missed the abnormal EKG and sent her home , telling her to follow up with a Cardiologist. She then went to Dr. Tackett, who saw her briefly ( 5 minutes) during an Echocardiogram and other heart testing procedures. The office called a week later saying the results were fine . My mom meanwhile was starting to have regular shortness of breath and could not get in to see Dr. Tackett for 5 months!!- that was after having extensive tests that she wanted the results of in person. We ended up switching doctors to CCMC Dr. Lardizabal where we learned her original ekg was showing Left Branch Block , she has a serious heart issue and likely needs a pace maker. So grateful that she has good, responsive care now.

It took 6 months to get a consultation with Dr. T. I was looking forward to meeting her because I heard good things. Upon arriving, I waited 50 minutes (20 in waiting lobby and 30 in exam room) before I saw her. She was friendly, yet I was a little shocked that she suggested I drink Powerade (a sugary electrolyte beverage) and told me to schedule an appt in 2 years just to make sure I don't fall off the books as her new patient. I'm unsure if she has time for more patients.

My experience this year was a complete 180° turn around from last year.Dr Tackett did not listen and jumped to conclusions with harsh judgements.The same lab reports of last year that were okay, were now horrible labs.Upon questioning this change of response from her, she became very short and rude.Being treated poorly and now concern for my health brought on tears, she saw me crying and told me to stop as I was bothering her staff-no compassion, no heart, very cold treatment

Dr Tacket is a compassionate, thorough and interested physician. She talks to you, listens to what you have to say and does not hide behind her computer. I have had a very positive experience with her and trust her diagnoses.

I have been with Dr. Tackett since having a stent. She has BY FAR been the most thoughtful and caring physician I have ever had. The office, the staff, the organization has been unbelievably helpful and attentive to my medical needs and questions. Unfortunately, my health insurance is pushing me off to another physician...I may have to make visits and pay cash. Ok...have to say this completely unrelated: Affordable Care Act is an OXYMORON if ever there was one!

Dr. Tackett is one of the most gentle, caring doctors I have had the pleasure to work with. I had an emergency situation and my PC asked her if she would see me right away. I was in her office the next day. She listened carefully to everything I had to say and calmly talked about my options. I was very scared about what had happened and she just said, "everything will be fine." My return visits have been the same. I feel lucky to be under her care.

Dr Tackett was genuinely concerned and easy to converse with. My visit with her was not rushed and she took the time to answer each question I had thoroughly. I feel that I am in good hands with her as my cardiologist.
