Dr. Andrew Athens, DO

My mother has been going to Athens clinic for over 30 years, first seeing the Dr. Athens Sr, then his son. She is now 80 yrs old. She has a PPO and Medicare. AFIB was recently discovered during an eye procedure and they told her to follow up with Dr. Andy. She did and he was mad that the eye Dr. and cardiac Dr. weren't with the Beaumont system. He wanted her to drop all her other doctors and only see his preferred doctors, when she refused, he told her he didn't want her as a patient any longer. She was so upset... His treatment of his long term patient is nothing short of abdominal.

Dr. Andy has been my Personal Care Physician his entire Professional practice at Athen's Clinic. He is a Professional in every aspect of his practice. Dr Athen's has always taken the time to Listen to one's concerns regarding health issues & has provided excellent medical care & advice. Personally since 1967 when I started going to Athen's Clinic as a 13 year old I have switched Insurance plans just to remain a patient here at Athen's clinic due to the Care received by everyone who works there.

Office manager is very rude and doesn't like anyone who questions the reasons for services. Nothing wrong with trying to get an understanding. Then she likes to tell them to go find another doctor if a patient doesn't like her attitude. Oh well. Dr Athens loss for allowing somebody so rude to interact with his patients.
