Rude and inappropriate
Visited ER with family member and this doctor was rude, dismissive, and overall unconcerned with patient care. He spent more time asking nonsensical questions than trying to address symptoms. Came here to leave a review of caution and it was interesting to note others had similar experience. If we visit the ER again and he is attending, I would risk driving away to avoid him at all costs.

Rude and arrogant
Dr. Chung was dismissive rude and arrogant. After battling many days of an intense burning and numb feeling pain in my legs and lower back, I decided one day it was in my best interest to go at 2am in the morning to the emergency room after being unable to fall asleep because of the pain. When I arrived I was greeted by some of the most amazing and caring nurses and staff who paid great attention to my needs but when it came time to see the doctor things quickly took a turn for the worse. I described my pain to him and he seemed to take little interest in what I had to say then he squeezed my my toes very hard and said “Did that hurt?” in a demeaning manner I said yes he remarked “if that hurt your legs are not numb”, then I said could this be a case of severe restless legs? He said no your legs would be moving right now, did he really expect me to be frantically shaking my legs while laying in the hospital bed? I think him and other doctors could benefit from increased empathy.

I thought I was having a heart attack. They took an EKG, it was normal. Dr. Chung came in and asked me my symptoms. He ordered blood work a CT scan and left the room. When he returned he casually sat in a chair, folded his legs and said, what’s wrong? I said, what do you mean what’s wrong, I told you I cannot breath. He said, you look like your breathing to me. I told him I’m not making this up! He said, well I can tell you this, its not a heart attack! I said, what’s going on? Are my arteries blocked? He said, of coarse they are your an American! I looked at him in total disbelief? He said according to your records you’ve had breathing problems for some time! I looked at him and said show me in any of my records where I’ve had breathing problems, that’s not true! Luckily a heart doctor arrived he admitted me. Next day QTST on EKG! The heart doctor was amazing, this guy, not so much! He’s demeaning, condescending, cavalier, and couldn't have cared less about me.

In a few words, demeaning, condescending, cavalier, couldn't have cared less about me. When all the tests were run and all negative, he sauntered in said, "Just as I thought, you have allergies." I had been in bed for 8 days at that point and had no energy. With Covid I felt the prudent thing to do was to rule out I didn't have it. I'm glad I did that, but I was still ill and not getting better. He prescribed an antihistamine. I think 8 days in bed with a sinus infection merits antibiotics. I should have given him a piece of my mind, but frankly was in such a fog and not feeling at all well, that I let him get away with it. Well, now I'm not! I intend to write a letter to the hospital also.

My sister was brought in because of a seizure after taking her med's. We were there 7 hrs and if not for the excellent nurse on duty that was caring for her... we would never know what was going on. The DR. didn't update us. We asked to see him and a little over an hour later he finally came in. He really didn't share anything with us, almost like he hadn't looked at her scans or blood work. I seriously couldn't believe that this so called director of the ER was even a doctor. Frustrated!

Dr. Chung doesn't just hear patients talking he actually takes time & LISTENS to them. He made me feel I was his only patient & he was doing everything in his power as a medical professional to make me get well. After battling w/numerous doctors over why I was having recurring pancreatitis, Doctor Chung was the only Dr. To go above & beyond to find a cause, & he did. He took time to go & compare previous scans & found I have a pancreatic divisum, a birth defect that's very hard to diagnose.
