Amazing Surgeon and Awesome Staff
Dr. Ertl and his staff are amazing. My husband has had a knee replacement and an ankle repair with Dr. Ertl. As my husband's support person, Dr. Ertl explained exactly what the surgery and recovery involved. Their pre-surgery program is the best, it's amazing what a difference it makes post surgery. Sauk Prairie Healthcare is a fantastic care center, we're thankful to live in the Sauk Prairie area and have this facility available to us. The pre-surgery and post-surgery staff were so attentive to both my husband as the patient and me as the coach, they kept me posted as soon as surgery was done with how it went and checked on me several times before hubby came back to the room. I love the small community care we got, they got to know us and we got to know them also. I highly recommend Dr. Ertl and Company for their caring manner and professionalism helping us through what could be an extremely stressful time but wasn't for us. We are blessed and grateful to have them in our lives!

I highly recommend Dr. Ertl
He explained every option possible to correct my ankle pain, which allowed me to make an informative decision. On day of surgery, my wife and I were informed of everything that would be done and what to expect after surgery. Everything was explained in detail and in terms which we could understand, so we knew exactly what to expect. After 7 months my ankle is doing great.

Awesome Physician!
After extreme disappointment in a competitor’s orthoepic department, with multiple visits, I was recommended to Sauk Prairie Healthcare. Dr. Andrew Ertle, ankle specialist, was my physician who made my first visit a smooth, and actually fun experience! His listening skills were off the chart and he truly cared about what my concerns. He went above and beyond making sure I understood the challenges with my ankle. Dr. Ertle and his surgical team showed compassion and genuine concern with my surgical experience. Now, I have a new foot/ankle, functioning completely pain-free! Thank You to Sauk Prairie Healthcare, Dr. Ertle and his team! They are highly recommended and anyone would be luck to have them as their orthopedic specialist.

Crushed Ankle
Dr. Ertl repaired my ankle from a hockey injury in the fall of 2020. It was, from what I understand, a situation where several chunks of my tibia needed to be pieced back together like some disgusting puzzle. Dr. Ertl took his time to arrange and rearrange the pieces to create the best possible outcome. The injury was significant, and I am still recovering - as expected. I will be returning to him for an ankle fusion in the near future. I highly recommend Dr. Ertl and his team.

Dr. Ertl has done surgery on both my husband and daughter in the last 3 months. He has been great with both of them. Developed a plan for their specific issues, lifestyle and recovery needs. He is personable and explained everything well. Surgery, pain and recovery have all been very well managed.

Dr. Ertl did 2 complete knee replacements for me this year. He has given me back the active lifestyle I had gradually lost over the decade due to the serve arthritis and bowing of my legs. I love being able to go for walks with my husband and dog again and also look forward to being able to dance the night away at my daughters wedding. The step by step details of what to expect during the process was so helpful. The staff made the whole process so easy and had me feeling very prepared.

I was able to get into see Dr. Ertl within 2 weeks of calling. The amount of time the entire staff spent with me was incredible. Every other doctor I’ve seen maybe spent 10-15 min with me and felt as though they just wanted to rush me. I never felt that with Dr. Ertl and his team .. never rushed, full explanations and he (and everyone) listened....seriously listened to me. Sauk Prairie is no joke .. it’s that good and I continue to be impressed by everyone I encounter. Looking forward to scheduling my surgery with this team.

I was in pain for almost 15 years before I saw Dr. Ertyl. He got X-rays, and MRI order ASAP, and was quite quick at booking my procedure. I was nervous, I didn't want to be in more pain, or have to do months of rehab! The doctor said it differs for everyone. I made the decision to move forward with the surgery. I was in a lot of pain the first day, that was to be expected. The 2nd day, I used my crutches still...more for support than anything. On the 3rd day I was walking with a slight limp, no crutches, and by day 5 it was like I never had an injury! It is amazing! Thank you, Dr. Ertyl for helping me feel like I am 25 again! I would refer anyone of my friends and family to him for their needs!

In May 2019 Dr. Ertl performed ankle fusion surgery on my right ankle. It turned out fantastic. I was back to work in 3 months and doing everything I've always done except now I'm doing it pain free. The results far exceeded my expectations. For Dr. Ertl and his staff, Sauk Prairie Hospital, and therapy 5 stars doesn't seem like enough. If I ever have to have anything else done, I wouldn't think of going anywhere else.

Nov. 2019 I had a knee replacement done, by Dr. Ertl. While this is not something that is easy to get through, the result has been fantastic. I knew going in I needed both knees replaced. At my 6 wk visit, Dr Ertl was so impressed with my progress, he said I could schedule my 2nd knee replacement. On Jan. 22, 2020, the surgery was performed. Everything responded more quickly. At 6 weeks I was not dependent on a walker or cane, with either surgery. At 8 weeks, after the 2nd surgery, I was out in my flower beds raking and cleaning!! Off pain meds at 5 wks with both. The care I recieved from Dr Ertl and staff was excellent! I would recommend Sauk Prairie Health Care facility and Dr. Ertl and staff to anyone needing knee replacement.

My daughter broke her leg near her ankle before Halloween 2019. She was a senior in college and was finishing her last semester before graduation. Needless to say, an injury like this is never convenient, but Dr. Ertl and his staff understood how this injury was going to greatly impact her stress level for her last few weeks of college and did everything in their power to get her into surgery as soon as possible. Her surgery went amazingly well. She graduated wearing a very stylish boot as she crossed the stage to get her diploma, and was back in the gym doing some light jogging on the treadmill by mid-January! We cannot say enough nice things about Dr. Ertl and his staff.

I had a total knee replacement on 1/8/19. Sauk Prairie Health Joint program is top notch. From the moment I first walked into the hospital I knew I was in the right place. After meeting Dr. Ertl and his staff it all fell into place. Everyone is friendly, kind, and caring. The care that I received the day of surgery was great. Everyone made sure I was comfortable and had what I needed. Surgery went well and I’m recovering nicely. I highly recommend anyone that needs orthopedic surgery to go to Sauk.

Dr. Ertle was my surgeon in the winter of 2017 and performed a bunionectomy on my right foot. At the time of the surgery, I was only eighteen years old but was experiencing a lot of pain and discomfort. Dr. Ertl did a great job of explaining that, even though I was young, the pain and severity of my deformity would only worsen. Therefore, I decided to go ahead with the surgery and couldn't be happier with the results. Recovery was not too bad, and after a couple of months of healing, I was back to walking normally. It is now a little over two years post-op, and I am currently training to run a marathon next fall. My foot is feeling better and stronger than ever!

Dr. Ertl was my surgeon in the Fall 2019 when I broke my foot in 2 different places and sprained my ankle badly. He is extremely knowledgeable in his area of expertise. Dr. Ertl explained every part of the procedure he would be doing and made sure I felt comfortable with it. He was great at answering any questions I had. Dr. Ertl was compassionate at each visit and always very positive. I am very grateful I had the opportunity to meet him and Bryant Kearney, PA-C that works with him. I always felt like I was in the best of care with both of them. Dr. Ertl and his team come with my highest recommendation!
