Hands down one of the best psychiatrists
Dr. Gergley is kind, intelligent, caring, non-judgmental, and highly skilled at his job. If it weren’t for him I know that I wouldn’t be alive today. I am very grateful for the care and service he provides.

Wonderful Docter but Terrible Office
I've been Dr. Gergely's patient for several years and he's a wonderful doctor but not once in all that time has his office returned any of my phone calls. More often than not the voicemail box is full so one can't even leave a message. It's been well over six months since I asked in person for an appointment with a therapist. The receptionist promised to call me when one became available. I haven't heard from her since. Regretfully, I think it's time to look for a different provider.

Dr. Gergly is kind and compassionate. He is a very conservative doctor and is careful when prescribing medication. I appreciate his flexibility regarding telephone visits. This has helped me to avoid crowds and Covid. If you were not happy with your first visit then I would suggest going back a second time. He’s extremely knowledgeable and will help you and your family.

Gergely went against my own therapist’s suggestions (she worked in the same office) who I was seeing for a year and did not collaborate at all on my issues and medications. It was one way or another. He did not allow collaboration or input from other professionals. He did not look at my file, get to know me, or even ask me questions; he immediately diagnosed me on first impression and proposed his own strategies that I (and my therapist) did not feel comfortable with. I left his office crying and immediately changed psychs.

Terribly condescending. Couldn’t get out of his office fast enough. My psychiatrist of 18 yrs retired which led me seeking a dr for medication management for ADD & depression. This dr was rude & insensitive. I was brought to tears as he repeatedly doubted most of what I attempted to convey to him...I later found out he provides service to many addicts & criminals of which I’m neither...Nothing positive do I have to say about this person!!!

This office is toxic. Another reviewer said that this office ruined their life. After coming here myself, I can see how that could happen. These therapists are incompetent and unproffessional. They also lack knowledge, compassion and understanding. There is something seriously wrong with this practice. I would've been better off not going to therapy than coming here. I developed a severe anxiety disorder and my ocd worsened beyond belief because of my experience here. This place did so much damage in my life I didnt think such a thing was possible at a therapist office. Seriously, stay away.

Will never know if he's a good doctor because his administration is so screwed up. Made an initial appointment 2 months in advance for my minor son. Showed up today for said appointment only to be told I had canceled it on the 15th. No I didn't. They said I would have received a call and a text that day and responded cancel to it. One problem with that. I recieved 0 texts on that day and only two calls- both from a friend in my contacts list (I have logs for both). On top of that, why would I show up for an appointment that I had canceled five days previous? So incredibly frustrating! No love from this prospective client!

I've been seeing Dr. G for over 10 years. During this time I have had on and off weekly therapy with other staff in the office (Jill and Joan) as needed, which actually led to a diagnosis that other doctors had missed. One of the great things about Dr. G is that he doesn't over prescribe or push meds on me. I've had many other doctors write 4 and 5 scripts to deal with a condition and then the side effects. He actually caught a Rx mishap when another doctor over prescribed and could've caused me to essentially OD. He's quiet at times, but thoughtful and has many years of experience. I see him at the Edgewater office. I honestly probably wouldn't be alive without Dr. G and his staff.

Do not see Dr Gergely. It’s questionable if he knows what he’s doing. But more concerning is that he has no after hours contact info. He bills aggressively. Charging double your co-pay for a missed appointment even if you call within 24 hours when you had extenuating circumstances (delayed flight). He charges you to write a script if it’s not during an appointment even though he didn’t provide enough medication to get you to the next appointment. This doctor is greedy, disinterested in his patients and questionable medically. My wife and I stopped seeing him and everyone we know has as well. Be warned. Find another doctor.

My daughter went to this practice originally for help with focusing. She was prescribed an anti-depressant which triggered a manic episode. She was then hospitalized for a week. We left the practice because of this. Two years later she was hospitalized a second time and went back to Dr. Gergely. They couldn't see my daughter for 2 months after she was discharged. She was prescribed various meds that didn't correct her depression/mania. He prescribed a med that broke her out in a total body rash

Do not bring your child or yourself to Dr. Gergely. He will not answer any emails, return phone calls, or correspond with you in any manner. Even getting his email address is difficult as it is not listed on his website. His lack of communication is as unprofessional as it gets. Find another doctor who will have active and open communication with you about your mental health needs.

My daughter has special needs and we were both very impressed with Doctor Gergely. He was very kind, respectful, and we were comfortable in his presence. He asked questions as was expected and gave his undivided time as you answered them. We will look forward to seeing doctor Gergely again and would highly recommend him. I was very impressed and grateful to Alyssa, as she helped us a great deal and was also very kind, professional, and efficient and a great asset to doctor Gergely office.

So, you make an appointment and for some reason can't make it AND you can't give them a 24 Hour notice because it's a Friday afternoon and your appointment is Monday morning. They give you a $60 no show charge. Oh, and after 6 weeks they send it to collections for payment. So, when I have to wait in their waiting room for an hour, do I get to charge them or take $60 off my bill, OF COURSE NOT?!?! Worse policies ever....if it wasn't for the nice ladies in billing.....the ship would sink!!

I don't know if I can add much about Dr. Gergely's acumen as a physician, but his practice seems horribly disorganized and poorly run. My experience matches many of the reviews previously posted at many review sites. I have never had them answer the phone, even when I called to tell them the medicine prescribed was making me suicidal. Had to leave a message, and they never called back. Twice I requested reschedule for my follow-up. Never heard anything. Not going back.

I would give him zero stars if I could. He does not take his patients seriously. He looked at me as if I had to be a certain age to suffer from servere anxiety, panic attacks and depression. Told me Valium is too much to be taking. He didn't seem to care. he doesn't take mental health seriously. Seeing someone else

This is the worst managed office I have ever used. You would think a doctors office that specializes in mental health, would make it a priority to keep their patients happy. EVERY single time I have tried to refill my prescription, I've had issues. I have gone days without medication and they really don't seem to care. I can't wait to get away from them and never go back!!

Dr. Gergely is a quiet, listening type of doctor. I needed someone to listen & point me in the right direction and he has helped me immensely.I feel he has a wealth of information but he doesn't show it off. He quietly helps with the right therapist ,when needed and also helps by prescribing meds if necessary. He actually calls you back if needed. His staff is caring , pleasant & helpful.
