One of the few surgeons that I have met that explains in layman’s language. Very patient and understanding doctor.

I saw Dr. Markwith for a tibial plateau fracture.
Dr. Markwith discussed my injury and explained the pros and cons for surgery and treatment, as well as showing me the x-ray. He was thorough, took time to answer my questions, and I appreciated his approach and manner. He did not recommend surgery, and I have had a full recovery and good outcome.

Our daughter had a hurt shoulder from a cheering accident. We were referred to Dr. Markwith who found that she had two tears in her labrum. He repaired them quickly and after a few months of Physical Therapy she is great. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a great Orthopedic Surgeon.

A Great Doctor
I ruptured my quadriceps tendon in July. I am also fairly new to Cape Cod so when I had my accident lots of folks were offering suggestions about orthopedic surgeons. I didn’t know any of them but I knew I didn’t want to travel to Boston for surgery and rehab. The Falmouth Hospital referred me to Dr. Markwith. I am a life-long runner and triathlete so I am very familiar with orthopedic surgeons. Dr. Markwith impressed me right from the get-go. The quadriceps surgery has to be done quickly after the accident. Dr. Markwith was booked solid and he was leaving for vacation. He told me that he always kept an open time slot on surgery days to deal with emergencies like mine. So I was scheduled for surgery three days after the accident which is really a testament to the way Dr. Markwith treats patients. From the minute I arrived at Falmouth Hospital I was placed in the care of a great team. Everyone treated me with care and kindness. Dr. Markwith was great. I would highly recommend him.

Rotator Cuff Surgery
I am a 61-year-old man, and for years have suffered with shoulder pain and an inability to lift heavy items over my head. After x-rays, and an MRI it was clear that I had torn rotator cuffs in both shoulders. After sitting with Dr. Markwith to discuss my options, I realized how comfortable I felt with him, and decided to move forward with the repairs. My right shoulder was the worse one, so we decided to do that one first. It has been almost a year since my surgery and everything from start to finish went the way one would hope, in fact so well that I am having my left one done next week. Just need to tell anybody having this procedure to most importantly follow Dr. Markwith's instruction to the letter because I am sure that is why I have full, and pain free use of my arm today. I also have to acknowledge all the staff in the office that made what could have been a stressful experience, a comfortable one. Thank You All!!

Rotator Cuff Surgery
Dr. Markwith operated on my shoulder on April 8, 2022. I had moderate pain before the surgery. He explained the surgery and recovery time in detail. Everything he told me to expect was key to my recovery. I followed the Drs. orders as closely as I could and the results are that I have been released as long as I continue to exercise the shoulder through at least the end of the year. I am able to do so much more everyday and there was little to no pain, just a bit of tightness and what felt like pulling. I am very pleased with Dr. Markwith and would highly recommend him to anyone needing rotator cuff surgery. I am happy that I had the surgery even though I had some trepidation. It has been a truly great decision on my part and I am sure that anyone needing this surgery will be pleased with Dr. Markwith and the recovery.

The best doctor I've ever worked with
I was suffering with shoulder pain for two years prior to my visit with Dr. Markwith. It was impairing my ability to work and enjoy life. I had seen multiple doctors in my search for a solution. My first appointment with Dr. Markwith gave me hope for the first time in a long time. He patiently explained my options, and we decided to move forward with surgery on my shoulder. The results have been life changing. He has been supportive and instructive throughout the rehabilitation process as well. There is no doubt he is a fantastic surgeon, but his ability to communicate clearly and care for his patient is something truly rare. I am grateful.

Shoulder Surgery
I had Dr. Markwith for my shoulder surgery back in April. He has an amazing bedside manor and explained my procedure so thorough to the point of prior to surgery and the entire recovery process! Being an active 24 year old and then needing a shoulder surgery really put a damper on things but Dr. Markwith made me informed of how the procedure would go and the restrictions afterwards so I didn't re injure my shoulder. I'm now 4.5 months out from a typical 6 month recovery time frame feeling amazing, my shoulder feel so stable and I have full range of motion. If it wasn't for him and being so informative and making me know the pros and cons of the procedure and the severity I probably would've torn more within my shoulder and be in a worse predicament. I can not thank him enough for being a professional and caring doctor by truly explaining the ins and outs and just informing me on what to expect! So Thank you to him! :)

I didn't expect to need surgery when I first came to Dr. Markwith in March, 2021. Certainly not rotator cuff surgery - I thought that something was wrong with my arm. Dr. Markwith ordered an MRI, and explained that, among other issues, I had a complete tear, that required surgery. I wasn't in any particular pain, and he patiently presented options for my situation. He was candid about the long recovery. We decided to wait until September. Everything went smoothly, and I am six months out, and very happy with the results. Dr. Markwith, his staff and the Falmouth hospital were all excellent. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone.
