Fast Food Chain of Colonoscopy and Endoscopy servi
I felt more like a number instead of a patient. I was rushed into procedure with several people asking a lot of questions at the same time while IV was being started. The extremely narrow area, with a bed, you are supposed to charge in is separated from the next patient by only a curtain. Someone walked in on me while I was naked which was really embarrassing. Also, I could hear everything the patient on the other side of my curtain said, no privacy. I was rushed out the same way I was rushed in. Late the next day I received a text asking me to type in CALL if I needed someone to follow up with me. I was nauseous, had chills and couldn't hold any food down, plus I was still dizzy, lightheaded and bumping into furniture in my home. I didn't receive a callback until 3 days after my 2 procedures. The nurse said he would have Dr. Mayer send a prescription for odansetron to my pharmacy for nausea. Today is Monday March 3rd 2025, still having severe nausea and no script sent to pharmacy.

Unprofessional Office
Dr. Mayer is acceptable what isn’t is is his office staff professionalism.Contacting the office you always receive a recording to leave a message. Call will be returned 24 - 48 hours lots of luck it never happens. Making a specific request there’s no follow through. Never have I experienced this with other medical offices.

Dr. Mayer is a great doctor. He's pleasant, approachable, and serious about his work. I needed some tests done and Syndie was great at sending me information, getting me an appointment with imaging, and following up with my paperwork needs prior to my appointment. She was friendly and professional. Dr. Mayer was also great at following up with the results of my tests, and explaining my results in clear terms.

Dr. Mayer is one of the best doctors and certainly the best colon doctor I have ever had. He took the time to thoroughly explain everything and made me feel heard and appreciated. The colonoscopy itself was an absolute breeze and his team of nurses were super friendly and caring. I have and will continue to recommend Dr. Mayer to all my friends needing a colonoscopy.

Didn't even get a visit. Called twice and left messages just to get to the receptionist to schedule an appointment. The call screener said it would take at least 24 hours to get a call-back. Is that what I can expect if I have a problem and need to get hold of the doctor? Sorry - moving right along...

My son and I met with Dr. Mayer and immediately felt very comfortable asking any questions or concerns we had. His knowledge was concise and very thorough. After my son had his endoscopy, Dr. Mayer was available to consult and answer any questions we had. His bedside manner was excellent and he spent extra time helping us feel comfortable and talking about options for the future. I appreciated his concern and would highly recommend him for care and procedures.

I previously gave Dr. Mayer one star but have now changed it to 4 stars. The one star is for the negative experience with his scheduler who needs to be re-trained on how to be more understanding/compassionate toward patients preparing for a colonoscopy. Dr. Mayer personally apologized for this misunderstanding which shows a tremendous amount of care and concern he has toward his patients.

Dr Mayer is outstanding. Made me feel completely at ease. Totally sedated for both procedures Endoscopy and Colonoscopy. Now due for another and not feeling concerned, or anxious because I know what to expect from Dr Mayer. I know I will be in good hands. His staff is friendly and accommodating. He met with me ahead of the procedure and carefully informed me what he would be doing. Afterwards he explained his findings very thoroughly. I highly recommend this doctor to everyone.

I was referred to him by another doctor at Scripps, even though he was relatively new, in 2009. Immediately, he knew that I had been misdiagnosed my entire life with IBS and vowed to not give up. He ran multiple, much needed tests, to discover a second stomach that had pre-cancerous cells. If it wasn't for him believing me, from the second he met me, and his never-give-up attitude to find the correct illness, I wouldn't be alive. I refer everyone to him, even my partner.
