Absolute best Doctor
He treated my 88 year old dad for esophageal cancer 5 years ago and we still follow up with him. Some doctors would look at his age and not have any hope. We always felt like Dr. McCollum cared and that makes a huge difference. Definitely worth the drive to Dallas.

He’s the best.
He’s been my doctor since I first found out about my cancer diagnosis. He’s the reason I’m still alive. He helped me find a second place to go when Baylor doctors couldn’t find a way to help me and that saved my life. He helped me manage my condition until I received surgery at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota. I had already had the cancer removed at Baylor, but they couldn’t figure out why I had pneumonia 5 times in 6 months and also why I couldn’t swallow. Dr McCollum wouldn’t give up and got me help at Mayo Clinic. After 2 more surgeries, I was able to swallow and not had pneumonia in over 10 years. He also helped me get into rehab to get me off Fentanyl that Baylor’s had me hooked on for over a year. I would refer everyone to Dr McCollum.

He truly cares about you as a person…excellent empathy. He explains treatment plans in a way that is remarkable in its clarity and ease of understanding. I like the fact he’s not a medical “risk taker” or “over mediator”.
