Finding relief
Dr. Nava listened to my symptoms and suggested we get imagining to see what we were dealing with. After MRIs on my entire spine, Dr. Nava came up with a plan to lessen my pain. I have complete confidence in his abilities. He is very focused and serious when performing any procedures, but also concerned about my comfort. Dr. Nava’s staff are also excellent. I’ve always felt cared for when dealing with anyone affiliated with his office.

Gives what you suggest just to get you out the door. Good if you're prepared and want something specific. Bad if you want him to give you any thought. Sent to him to discuss meds for fibromyalgia. Briefly discussed my condition. He had nothing to say to me and wanted to leave the room with no suggestions. I wanted to try med X for fibro that I hadn't tried yet. I asked about it before he could run out the door. He said "oh you wanna try X? Ok, we'll go with 12.5mg for 30 days". I said "that's not what I read." He said annoyed "oh, what have you read?" I said the drug guidance says to start with the low dose briefly, but to quickly increase to 50mg as standard maintenance dose. He said he'd prefer to take it slower. Ok, fine. Another time, I asked about piriformis syndrome. He quickly gave the diagnosis with little physical exam, and offered injections. I was kinda happy because I wanted to try SOMETHING, but had little confidence that he had really considered the diagnosis.

As a former soldier, firefighter, paramedic, police officer, hockey player etc, I have endured my share of pain over the years. That said, my previous pain management was adequate, but not nearly as good as the care provided by Dr. Nava. Im not a paid endorser by any means only an old man who suffers/suffered pain and has found a medical practitioner that has been able to work with me to minimize my angst. Trust me, having two artificial hips, and hardware in my shoulders I know what helps especially where steroid injections are concerned. In the past I never really got relief and now with Dr. Nava I have had protracted relief. So maybe this review is less of a skill review than it is a thank you, but this, in my opinion, is part of what medicine is and that is the human side. I've got to tell you, Dr. Nava is great in this regard. Thank you doc!
