First time with Dr. Newman.
Very pleasant first meeting. Dr. Newman explained what was going to be done in a way that was easy to understand. I had 2 biopsies on my back that requiring both to have a larger area surgically removed. Everything went well.

Do NOT go to this “doctor”
Dr. Newman removed a “suspicious” looking mole on my leg, not cancerous btw, and quite literally left my leg disfigured. I work as a model for a living and was not told that this preventative and nonsensical surgery was going to leave me with a chunk missing from the side of my leg and a hideous scar from his careless stitching. Now, I’m self conscious about my legs every single day and have missed out on jobs due to the fact that my legs do not show well with my ugly new scar. When I came back to the office to show him what he had done to me he basically just shrugged it off and told me to just keep letting it heal… there is a huge piece of my leg that is now missing, nothing is going to heal that on its own, but he didn’t care to even try to help. This man doesn’t give a crap about his patients anymore than he does the crap on the bottom of his shoes. I truly wish that I had never gone to this “doctor” and I don’t understand how he’s allowed to keep doing this to his patients.

An Expert at MOHS
I got lucky when I was sent to Dr Newman. He is skilled and competent, along with being friendly and patient. Unfortunately, I have had to have several MOHS procedures, but he does such a beautiful job that no one has even noticed after the healing.

good doctor
Dr. Newman treated me well on the first diagnosis and treatment, excising two skin cancer spots including one on face and suturing them cleanly. They healed well. Good follow up and continuing appointments. Professional, caring, personable, stays with the patient as long as it takes and communicates clearly. I recommend Dr. Newman highly and will stay with him as my dermatologist.

I will not recommend this Dr. to anyone. He has very poor knowledge of dermatology, or skin conditions. He does not know how to treat. He has very poor communication skills. He does not provide any information to the patient regarding treatment, diet, or anything else that can make a patient feel better or recover from the disease faster. He does not care whether the patient is getting better or not! He does not care about his patients at all! Messages to his office are not returned. It is very hard to reach anyone at his office. He does not spend enough time with the patient. Moreover, he is very unfriendly. He does not explain anything. Making Money is his number one motivator! His office stuff is full of teenagers, without any experience. I experienced very poor quality of service at this office.

I received sub-standard care for a Melanoma excision by Dr. Newman. 1) left with an open wound for more than 2x as long as I was told I would be & the sutures he put in place left additional damage to the skin around the excision site. 2) When damage was revealed at the suture removal appt, he didn't examine or address it. He conferred with his MA directly outside of my room where I could hear them through the closed door. Days later, I pulled out a stitch that had been left in the wound and noticed a 2nd suture in another area. I went to the Gilbert office and the PA dug out a 2nd suture from partially healed skin. Because Dr. Newman failed to acknowledge the damage done to my skin or properly examine it, I was left with these stitches in my arm. 3) He didn't chart my case accurately, leading to add'l charges for services I did not receive. 4) The education portion of my care was severely lacking. This is especially concerning given he's the Dir. of Clinical Ed. for his practice.
