Great experience- now I can see clearly
I originally saw another doctor about my early onset of cataracts. I informed her that I cannot see at night to drive, during the day I can see but it was challenging to see road signs n dashboard if the sun is in my face. Things were extremely fuzzy but she still wouldn't perform the surgery. I needed a second opinion. I came to Dr Nightingale thru a friend. He examined me and saw that my quality of life was being hindered and said I am a good candidate for cataract surgery. After just doing my 1st eye, I compared it to my bad eye. I had no idea how bad my vision was. Just had my 2nd eye done today and everything looks amazing. So glad I went with Dr Nightingale.

Great First & Second Appt!
I originally came here a relatively young patient at 28 years old (now 29) because I had a drifting eye on my lazy eye and I just wanted a MD to look at it after my optometrist couldn’t figure it out. Dr. Nightingale examined my eyes and diagnosed me with strabismus. He was able to recommend a pediatric ophthalmologist so that I can get eye muscle surgery with him. After a year I return back and he confirmed my eyes were good and that my surgery looked excellent. I like his office and the location is nice. You can walk to the park after your appointment.

I found him arrogant, curt, and seemingly unconcerned about my eye condition (severe glaucoma). Also, the visual field machine--the most critical instrument for gauging glaucoma progression--was broken, which made my visit largely a waste of time. I do not recommend him.

I saw Dr. Nightingale a month ago and I was very pleased with my visit. 1) He's super nice. 2) He crazy smart 3) He diagnosed me and referred me to the correct specialist for my future surgery. Im 28 I was kinda nervous but his office took my temperature and took all Covid protocols. Basically I found out what was wrong and was sent in the correct direction. I greatly appreciate him.

Dr. Andrew Nightingale's knowledge base is far beyond his years. He took a cue from his father, also an ophthalmologist, and is applying his wide breadth of experience to a diverse patient population. He has the tools he needs to diagnose and treat a multitude of conditions--largely because of the excellent technical team his father Jeffrey, put together. In this case, I don't feel handed off to a lesser breed of professional, but awfully lucky to be in the hands of folks who obviously care, are talented, and work to enhance the experience at the Nigtingales. And while you're there, see if you can take a few moments to enjoy the scene, as you will be directly across the street from Central Park!

A horror, rude, arrogant, nasty, he could have caused me great harm. As a tennis player I asked when I can play after, he said “the next day.” I was stunned. He said he did cataract surgery on many tennis professionals and he “knows.” NO, NO reputable doctor would say to play tennis the day after cataract surgery. It can cause great harm. Next time he said the same, I can play tennis the next day. Staggeringly, grossly incompetent. He also said bizarre things about okay to have laser in one eye, original in other. He said I need a Toric lens (more expensive), no other surgeon has. He said I would have 20/20 vision in my eyes, NO reputable surgeon says that. They try, come close, but won’t promise. The final straw, he stormed out saying nastily, “you will pay for this visit, this was just for measurements”. I asked my insurance to carefully check his charges, and the Dept of Health for the damage he could have caused me. If he would do it for free I wouldn’t have him touch my eyes.

I've been seeing Dr. Nightingale for years now. He is nothing but the most informed, professional, and kind ophthalmologist I know in the city. He is now taking care of all of my family members!
