Dr. Russell should not be in the healthcare field. He is not friendly, does not listen to his patients and is not professional. In fact, he walked away as I was still talking and left the room. He does not know how to answer patient questions and does not explain the 'why' as to his recommendations. I will be reporting him because no one should ever feel the way I felt after leaving the emergency room.

My father was taken to Anderson hospital by ambulance today after he flipped a riding lawn mover over on top of him. The fire department literally had to put the lawn mower back upright. My father, born in 1953, had severe back pain. Dr Russell only did a x ray and did nothing to check further for a soft tissue injury or for buldging or ruptured disks. He further insulted my father by saying “ oh you’re one of those” when he asked for a pain medicine prescription. And literally sent him home with NOTHING. Dr. Russell was completely unprofessional, lacked bedside manners, and failed my father as a doctor. My father isn’t an addict and even if he was worried about him being an addict, there are non addictive pain meds that could have been prescribed. He basically pushed him out the door with NO care. I will be reporting him to the state board, IDFPR. and to the head of Anderson hospital along with jahco if they can help.

Do not recommend
My elderly dad flipped a lawnmower, and was taken to the ER by ambulance. They did an x-ray and said it was only a strain. However, he was in a lot of pain. When he asked if he could have a script for pain medication, this physician said no. Then he said "you're one of those, huh?"... implying that my dad was drug-seeking. I found this to be extremely unprofessional and uncalled for.

Dr. Russell is intelligent, caring, and an incredible physician. The ER is not really a place you want to be, yet he still confirmed I made the right choice in going to Anderson. He was patient and listened to all of my concerns. He was great at explaining things in a way I could understand and was extremely polite. I would highly recommend him as a physician!
